For Those Former Members Of Ciao Who Are Now "Defecting" To Shared Reviews

I'll let you know if I find a good paying site, right now I'm thinking Associated Content will be my best paying writing site, but there are so many to try it will be a while before I know.

Shared Reviews is supposed to start paying this month from what I understand. There may be a couple month lag until you see the money though. The only sites it seems that I make money on is squidoo. My adsense account is slowly adding up because of hubpages. I really do miss Ciao. Its not the same. I was not part of the site that long, but long enough to really miss the site. I really got to know some of the best people on there. Some of us may be on the same sites, but we don't see each other like we did there. We really did had a community considering that we didn't have a forum in a traditional sense. I had fun going to each profiles and messaging each other. It was real different kind a site. I am willing to give shared reviews a chance. I'm not going to go all out and write a whole bunch of reviews, but at least I am going to try the best I can.

I am also on AC. I get paid here and there when I do upfront. I pretty get at least one article a month on upfront and get paid for it. It is not a whole lot, but it is something. I also write on helium and I am getting closer to payout on there. I have over 30 articles and 2 writing stars which helps a bit more. Most of what I have written this month will qualify for up front payments.

I miss Ciao too...shame the plagiarizers and cheaters ruined it for everyone--I do remember you over there hildas:-)

It would be great to have our ciao reviews over there at SR but as you said we can't...I did save all mine before it closed down and do repost them at associated content for page views only--if you're at AC maybe you could do the same...did you save your reviews from Ciao? It was a shame what the plagiarizers did to ciao..they were responsible for it's demise

Hi K46620, the only problem with that is they say they are ONLY paying the TOP THREE reviews in each category. And that could mean the three reviews with the most 'votes' from their buddies as opposed to the best reviews. I don't like their system of just 'voting' rather than rating reviews as to how helpful they are - it strikes me as wide open to abuse. -Esmeralda

Hi Esmeralda, welcome to myLot. I agree SR is not as good as I was hoping, I think I am going to focus on AC and the other sites for now.

Yes as TheDragonLady points out it seems only the top rated reviewers will get paid anything...just doesn't seem worth it..like sheesh---

sharedreviews does not pay at all so there is no point going there! its a scam, a fat mega bulky scam!

djaaumthemoneymaker, I know Shared review has not been paying but they were supposed to restart paying in July. I have not really been there much because so far my one review has not earned a single penny. I'm wondering if they have started paying like they said they would.

Yeah comparedbyus is another winner...NOT---and you're right, they changed their rules so many times doesn't seem worth being there either

From what I'm gathering only the top reviewers get paid..the more votes people have on their reviews the better...but yikes that would mean an awful lot of votes

Yeah, I'm sticking with Associated Content--I'm posting many of my Ciao reviews I saved and having them on AC now....as page views..but heck better than nothing, right?

It does seem like the top reviewers do get paid, but I've never been in the top ranks and from the way things are, little chance that I'll ever be

I sure wish I knew of other sites that are similar to Ciao...most ones seem to suck though...lol

But Ciao.uk is ONLY for UK members, right? I don't think they pay or accept non-UK members

I've been a member of Ciao UK for over three years. They DO accept members from any country, but they will only PAY members who live in the UK and have a UK bank account. If you don't live in the UK but enjoy writing just for the sake of it and for the community aspect of the site, and don't mind not being paid, you can join. They don't use PayPal like Ciao USA did - their one and only method of payment is by bank transfer into a UK bank account.

Since Ciao USA closed down, we've been deluged by the cheaters from there who think it's the same company and that they can just pick up from where they left off with their copied reviews, lists of specs and unintelligible garbage in bad English that all used to get rated 'Exceptional' and 'Very Helpful' by their cartel-clicking buddies with 'good review' comments. At Ciao UK, they get 'Not Helpful' and insulting comments telling them to get lost, which must be a real shock! The environment at Ciao UK is very different from Ciao USA, there is zero tolerance for cheating and the members don't mince words in their comments! Ciao UK are also very good at deleting the accounts of cheaters very quickly, sometimes within hours of being reported, unlike Ciao USA who let them carry on for weeks or months after being reported.

And for the few cheaters who might actually manage to make it to the end of the month without being deleted, if they've managed to earn any money at all and put in a payment request, they will then be presented with a screen asking them to fill in their UK bank account details. LOL.

So, for those who live in the UK and write good, non-plagiarised reviews, Ciao UK is still a very good option. But I wish there were more options for the good reviewers who live in other countries. The only two worthwhile sites I've been able to find are 1) Dooyoo, which is also UK based but as well as paying into a UK bank account, they alternatively pay in Amazon vouchers, so if you live in a country that has Amazon, it's a great alternative, and 2) Helium, which is a bit of a baffling site to the newbie and it takes some working out how their system works - it may seem like you're not earning more than a few pennies at first, but persevering is worthwhile once you get the hang of how to maximise your earnings.

yes they only do pay to bank account which is s shame as i liked them to pay into my paypal account!

Yes I knoW Ciao UK accepts people all over the world---but I'm after sites that will pay for my time and effort...like how the heck would I get a UK bank account if I'm not in the UK? anyway, it's a shame that the formers cheaters are now infiltrating at Ciao UK....I also believe a lot of the cheaters from there are over here at MyLot as well...don't ask how many plagiarizers I've caught making copied responses to discussions from outside sources

Yes it does really seem to be a scam...so I don't bother with it anymore
