| | Hey Opal, This is a real shocker to me also. I am 51 years old, and I feel as though he and I grew up together. I used to watch him on TV, the Flip Wilson show I think it was. I'm still hoping that it's a rumor, but I will stay tuned to the radio to see how and why. We just never know when it's our time, do we? With Farrah we knew it was possible that she might pass, but with Michael it's so sudden. | | | | | | |

| | He was such a public icon that many people feel they actually knew him. Only natural that everyone would grieve. Guess that's why he sought the solitude of privacy between his masks. | | | |

| | LOL--hi mysdianait...I take it you weren't a big fan of Michael Jackson--neither was I...he really did have talent and started at a very young age, but maybe that was the problem...too much fame too soon and too young...made him a "tad" weird. I do remember and still like his "Thriller" video though...that is the most watched video of all time. And yes, Farrah was a talent not really recognized...think she was often viewed as a blonde ditz...LOL..but her movie The Burning Bed was very powerful yet still her talent wasn't taken seriously | | | |

| | Many of Michael's issues were caused by his father pushing him to be the best when all Michael wanted to do was be a child. Any child under that much stress will grow up to be a little eccentric! Part of me felt bad for him, but it comes to a point where an adult must take responsiblity for themselves and get HELP! | | | |

| | As I mention under mysdianait response I was never a great fan of Jackson's but do remember and still like that Thriller video. As for Farrah Fawcett who also died today, I feel bad for her life-long companion Ryan O'Neal--he must be devastated | | | | | | |

| | I know that you weren't a big fan of Michael Jackson. I read your response in Myjk's discussion, but you did admit that his talent was special. He had his faults, as we all do, but his talent couldn't be compared to any. So I do hope that he is at peace at last. I was a big fan of his since he was a sweet little boy in the Jackson Five. He was a "tortured soul", and it wasn't all his fault, so let us let him RIP. Thanks for being honest pye! Hugs, Opal | | | |

| | Well, Michael was probably worshiped much more in his hay day while he was once a black man and even a little when he became a white woman, but since the little boy "Jesus juice" fiasco, some people probably won't mourn his loss as if that stuff hadn't happened. The generation that grew up with Michael was ours Opal, I thought he was a great entertainer and definitely WAS one of the most beloved pop music icons of the 80's, but he should have stopped f'cking with what God made. Well one thing he couldn't dance his way out of the know diseases that are medically known to take the lives of Black Americans at an early age. | | | | | | |

| | I know that you're right mrghill~ Unfortunately for him, he was the first and youngest of his family to be "taken". What I do hope is that his miserable father suffers for what he did to him in his early years! But, I doubt he will! What many people don't realize is what Michael really went through at the hands of that baztard! I really am devastated at his loss! I grew up with him and he was younger then me! Such a talent will never be again! Thanks for remembering... | | | |

| | I'm sorry that you hate Joe Jackson for making a future for his sons. I guess once Hollywood get their hands on the lives of people they can choose who will be the villain and who will be the hero. I have to say despite the perception of how Joe treated all of his sons, he did more for his family than many black fathers would even try to do. Michael decided to take multiple risks of having surgery to alter his appearance, he was a creative individual (as we all know are flaky), he was malnourished and he was genetically prone to heart disease and hypertension. He didn't have a whole lot going on in his favor for longevity. Since I didn't know the man personally, I can't mourn, but I do sympathize for the Jackson family for the loss of their youngest son. | | | |

| | Worldwise1, I'm not sure who you are directing your opinion at, but from what I'm reading, It sounds like you are contradicting your own reproving comment. There's an old saying that says when you point your finger at someone, four more are pointing back at you. Once you are finished being the spokes-whatever for the creator, think about it. | | | |
