Stealing Thunder...LONG discussion  

It's a mercy, really, Bunnybon. Farrah's family can grieve in privacy now and all the media vultures will be harassing the Jackson family--which is awful, but Farrah can be buried with dignity and her family won't be subjected to the agony of helicopters circling the cemetery and reporters attacking the family on the road and at their homes. I'm sorry for the Jackson family, though, having the brunt of the media coverage, people taking photos through the windows of their homes, calling them constantly--we really should set some limits on how much the media can invade someone's privacy. Not restrict their speech, but impose some manners and common human decency.

Hey, I think that Michael had every intention of going on with his concert tour to London, as I heard on the radio that he was working on his dance moves days before he died. I also heard that he was using prescribed medications, and that they may have been overdosed to him. I doubt he took his own life on purpose. Anyway, I agree that Farrah and Michael were both very talented people. Have you ever had the chance to see the Lifetime Movie that Farrah starred in called, "The Burning Bed?" She plays as an abused housewife. If you can see it, I recommend it - Farrah was an amazing actress. Thanks.

Nobody seems to be remembering that Ed McMahon died the day before them... talk about stealing thunder. Plus, real people die every day. Heaven forbid someone's loved one has deid recently and all that is being over shadowed by the deaths of these celebrities.

well, I've had a birthday ruined for years, and my favorite show had to repeat the first episode because nobody was watching anything but news the first night it showed, and all because of one man's death

Both are great in entertainment world. Micheal Jackson will be the Emperor of Pop Songs for long long time.Farrah also be remembered for long time.Few wards are not enough to praise them. Death is the final destination for all.But all are not remembered. Our homage for both the talented persons who have created history.

I don't believe for one minute that Michael Jackson died to steal the media attention from the death of Farrah Fawcett. Any more than I think that Farrah chose that day to die to steal the thunder from the passing of Ed McMahon who passed on the 23rd. With his upcoming concert tour, which I understand he was excited about, Michael had too much to live for. I really doubt if any of the 3 were ready to go.

HI BON, THE saying is very famaliar to me. I have never had much thunder but have had it stolen a few times. . i was very glad dateline had a special on both of them last night & farrah's was first. did u see it? She was a very beautiful, talented woman & really put up a fight to live. I'm sorry she lost it.
i liked some of mj's music & he was a cutie when he was young. He had gotten so wierd & looked even wierder but am sorry he passed & i know his children & family are grieving. I HAVEN'T HAD THE TV ON TODAY BUT I'M SURE THAT'S ABOUT ALL THEY SRE TALKING ABOUT & TO BE HONEST I DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT. I loce the news but when something like his death happens they wear me out talking about the same thing over & over.

FF seems to me more of a tragedy, after fighting cancer to have lost her battle with it, my heart breaks thinking about it.
(I lost both my grandma and mother to cancer, it is sad to see them go, especially when the treatment can be very bad and makes the patient weak, I am aware that this is all we have to fight cancer but I am as honest as I can be).
And to top this off her son in jail, as a mom and daughter I feel bad for both of them.
In MJ I do not feel he wanted to die, I think he did what he could to hang on to youth, but knowing he was raised as a Jehovah Witness I would say he fear death rather than he thought it was an exit.
There is some power in thinking he had a choice about it, and he did, he could have made other choices in life but did not. I feel that what happened to MJ was a tragic accident and nothing more.
I do not know if people have stolen my thunder or not, lol.
I think when one of my cousins was expecting her first baby my aunt stole he thunder by expecting her last daughter, ooops!
We talked more about my aunt than her, so go figure.

Oh I had thought the same thing about Farrah sort of being pushed to the back but I didn't say anything to anyone about it. I do wish that more would be said about Farrah as she was a fighter and tried her best to stay alive. Let's not forget about Ed McMahon either.

Every one has his or her own time. And there is a time for everything - a time to die and a time to be born. Farrah and Michael have reached their end of life. It is not in people's control on whether to live a long life, short life, what kind of death, or other things that pertains to life. But the kind of death they had should help us to remember now our Creator while we can still see the sun. The time will come when we will also die. Let's claim our passport to heaven - Jesus Christ!
