Would You Want To Be Filmed Whilst At The Gym?  |

 I was busy working up a sweat at the gym today (ok, no surprises there!) when the gym instructor came over to me, now normally they ignore me and I am usually invisible, well he asked me if I wouldn't mind being asked some questions about the gym, some local reporters had come in.
Well you know me and my poor self-esteem I asked if they were going to film me he said yes and straight away I said NO, he laughed and walked away, so I don't know what he was implying
Well I saw the film crew come in and interview a few people. I was drenched in sweat, and I think my responses to any questions about the gym would have erred on the negative side because the gym is unfriendly and a few other things I am not happy about, but it's cheap and it's all I can afford. So I expect they'd edit anything I said that wasn't favourable out. So there's no point is there?
So if you were busy exercising or were all sweaty and felt horrible would you want to be interviewed and filmed? Even if you did have positive things to say about the gym?
I am still wondering why the guy laughed when I said no after I said would I be filmed, guess I am being paranoid again!

I am sure the guy who laughed didn't mean anything bad, He was probably just thinking to him self. That it was ok by him and that he was trying to make light of what you said. You know like ok thats cool buddy. smiles. Hope i eplained that right lol. Hugs Wolfie poo

It would be like being filmed having your hair colored, while your showering or just after giving birth...some moments are just better left off the 10 o'clock news.

Why he laughed is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps he had already assumed you would say no and laughed because he was right.

After all, you have the right to refuse to be filmed when you are drenched with sweat. The instructor might have laughed out of amusement....perhaps at the way you said NO.:) Why he laughed is of no significance; but what you feel because he laughed is of great significance. If you just shrug it off with a grin and not think about it any more, there is no problem. But if you dwell on it, giving a variety of shades of meaning to the instructor's laughter or the reasons for the instructor's laughter, aren't you wasting a lot of mental energy? I would like to share an exercise for low self-esteem, one that worked for me. Everyday identify a really good, admirable point about yourself. In 30 days, you will get a collection of 30 points, and a greatly boosted self-esteem.
Would I allow myself to be filmed or photographed? Certainly not! Mine is not a photogenic face. LOL! Drenched with sweat or not, my answer would be a big, resounding no.
