Do you sleep late on weekends?

Do you like to lie in bed on weekends and holidays? Me, well I prefer to jump out of bed early, (about 5:30-6:30) as I figure it's my time I'm wasting, and I could be doing something constructive. Only if I've had a very late night will I try to grab some extra sleep.

I do sleep late on weekends. Sometimes I sleep later than I intend. I hate waking up early if I don't have too because I tend to fall asleep rather late during the night anyway. So if I get the chance to sleep in, then I do it. I try hard not to sleep too late though. I hate when I sleep too late because I feel like I've wasted so much of my time.

Hello, highflyingxangel, I guess the majority of people would fall into your category, and I did too through my twenties and thirties. Thank you for joining the discussion.

I so agree mipen! I am always up before dawn seven days a week because I do see lying in bed as time wasting but I also like to get my chores out of the way really early and then be free for the rest of the day. I rather take an afternoon nap if I am tired because I sleep much better knowing all the tedious stuff is done for the day!

I agree, paula, and my routine used to include an afterneeo nap when I had to teach in the evening. However, in retirement, I haven't needed that nap, and I seem to do OK without it. Thank you for your input.

I am always up at 7 AM including holidays, because my animals don't understand the difference. Also I have notice that keeping the same schedule is good to avoid headaches... My day is much longer if I am up early...

Hi polachicago, I think I've commented before on how busy you sre. And dogs don't care what time it is, they still demand attention. Thanks for your response.

Your queston reminds me of this funny thing I do.Normally on weekdays I find it difficult to get up and go to office.I feel drowsy and lie on the bed for a few minutes before finally forcing myself out of the bed.And during weekdays I also go to sleep early. But on weekends I don't feel like sleeping at all.On the contrary I like staying up late and doing some of the activities I can't do during the weekdays.I go to sleep late and also wake up early in the morning. It is actually quite funny that I am able to do so without feeling drowsy and stuff!

It's funny, that's exactly how I felt when I worked a nine-to-five job. But when the time's our own we never feel as tired. Thanks for your thoughts nikhil.

I will try to sleep more, but usually after I woke up, even at 6 am, it ahrd for me to sleep back, even though I sleep late the night before. Yes, I should do something that good to my body like doing some exercising , not just sit in front of the computer like the other days. Need to start exercise now.

Hello mipen2006 , eekends have no importance on what time I wake. I only use an alarm clock when I need to be able to wake early. I work 7 days a week 2 different types of work.Tomorrow I am not going to do the second work since my family has plans for the 4th of July.

Hey ds6413, when do you relax. I did two jobs when I was saving for my overseas trip in 1966, but I've never used an alarm clock, no matter what time I have to get up. Enjoy the 4th July.

After a long busy work week, I would relax on Friday nights, listening to my favorite classical music, and stay on late into the night ! That's my stabdard Friday night !

Yes it happene that i can sleep till late duing the week-end seeing that in these days you will have much time in relation to other days of the week..i think you can use week-end to do something you can't in other days so i think normally you must get up early for that in the week-end in the majority of cases is good to sleep till late!!

Yes, I agree you can get things done in your free time, and that's a very good reason for getting up early on weekends. Thanks for your input tonyllenium.

i would like to be able to get up at that time and have a very productive day, but i never will because i love lie-ins so much more, i prefer to stay up late and sleep in rather than get up early and go to bed early
