Huffington Post Article Attacks Palin's Son Trig |
|
A lot of people are dismissing the idea that Sarah Palin might have resigned to save her family from the attacks they have suffered in the media but this article that was published in the Huffington Post is an example of just how low some of these people will sink.
The post, which was pulled off the site after it was discovered by the Free Republic, is entitled "Palin Will Run in '12 on More Retardation Platform". In the article, the author, Erik Sean Nelson, who is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, shamelessly makes fun of everyone from Down's syndrome children to Wal-Mart greeters.
You can read the text of the article here:

If this article had been written by a conservative about a liberal politician or their family, there would have been a major outcry and a call for his firing at the very least. I don't know why this attack on a minority (developmentally disabled) is not labeled a hate crime.
Most importantly, it shows what depths of despicable behavior some on the left are capable of sinking to in order to attack Sarah Palin and her family. To go after the tiniest of them, and the least capable of defending himself - a baby - is the lowest form of cowardice I can imagine.
Can anyone tell me why this man should not be fired? Will those on the left speak out against this or will they find a way to excuse it?

Who in their right minds would attack a little boy like that? These people simply has no shame or any sense of decency in the first place. They should never be allowed to work for the media.

Rollo1 (1604) | 6 months ago | I am rather afraid that a sense of decency is now officially considered a relic of the past. I haven't seen much evidence of it lately, that's for sure.

Rollo1 (1604) | 6 months ago | Well, I didn't even mention his very improper grammar which screams out to me from one particular sentence... but, that would be off the point. I can't say he's stupid, since I don't know him, but I will say he shows an appalling lack of good taste and sensibility.

Nice of the moron stream media to completely ignore it completely. The guy should be crucified. He serves no useful purpose and is a boil on the backside of all humanity. I hope he never breeds.

The trouble is that the Democrats feel it is all right to insult some and not others, and it has been going on for so long that they think it is all right. So it is all right to insult female white conservatives or white males, but not if the person is of a minority or a darker color. I am sure that the Huffington Post would have said nothing insulting if an Eskimo or native Indian female was the governor of Alaska and she had given birth to a child with Down Syndrome or if she had done the same as Sarah Palin did and if she had been a choice for Vice President, even if she were conservative in nature. Years ago, when I was a girl, it was common to call people who were non-white names, and even those who were not born in the British Islands, and that went out of favor. How soon will it be before insulting conservatives who have family members who are mentally or physically disabled go out of favor as well? The sooner the better.

Rollo1 (1604) | 6 months ago | The real problem (aside from the lack of class it shows to personally attack people) is that all this focus on personalities, family crises, the appearance of one's children and even their disabilities, takes focus away from the real issues. People shouldn't be deciding their political future based on such ridiculous criteria. The news media is responsible for buying into the short, snappy, byte-hungry appetite of the masses and neglecting the important issues at hand. I posted a discussion asking people for the reasons they hate Sarah Palin based on her stance on issues. I don't really have any responses yet... I don't know if I will get any.
