Need some advice regarding Ethical Hacking Course |
|
Hello friends, I am an electrical and electronics engineer, just passed out of college and would be joining Infosys, an Indian I.T. firm with a global client base, in September. In the mean time, I felt it was good to go for some certification rather than sitting idle at home. I went to this institute which offers Ethical hacking course where they would teach me crazy ways to steal information and then learn the ways to protect such attacks. I was so excited when I went for the demonstration class today! The course content would be a lot of things like spoofing, scripting, DOS attacks, changing source ID, SQL injection, php injection, etc etc...
Do you people advice going for a Cyber Forensics basics course at this point of time?

1. timelord50 (135) | 5 months ago | me personally would love to if its something extra to get qualified in then you might find it worth while when it comes to your job you might be able to stop any such attacks from happening you may even recognise it before any of the other staff realise so in my opinion i would take the course use it to protect others dont use it for your own selfish needs otherwise u may get into trouble you may have to use it in your job anyway when a situation crops up so really i would say a positive yes.

jshekhar (1159) | 5 months ago | Thank you for the response, friend. I am very much interested in the Ethical hacking field, even though i had electrical and electronics in my engineering degree course. I am sure I would pick up the concepts fast and then use my knowledge for something positive.

3. la_chique (350) | 5 months ago | I'd love to do that course but dont have the time right now. I suggest you do it as its a really valuable course and you may as well whilst you're waiting to start your new job. Of course, you could wait a little while and see if your new employer would fund it for you.

jshekhar (1159) | 5 months ago | Hello friend, I started that course two days back and I'm really loving it. My new employer would never fund it for me because these are in two different cities and he's not had a history of funding such courses. Thanks for the advice.

yeah, I have always had this thing in me to keep on studying a subject that interests me. Of late, it has been this field of computers and I really want to devote a lot of time into it, now that I am relatively free for two months or so.. have a good day

5. tonyllenium (1949) | 5 months ago | i think it is really suitable for electronics enginer have a tutorial or course like that so i think you are right to be interested in it and so even really interesting to attend ti as well!! i knew some engineers that don't really know about dos attack, spoofing, sql injection and so on..or better they know because they heard them but have no idea about them too!!So i think that if we consider in many cases these kind of things cna be really normal as regards this issue it should be really suitable for and your work to understand and know practically about the reverse systems!!

jshekhar (1159) | 5 months ago | Hello friend, Thank you for the advice and appreciation. I learned these terms few days ago only and when I went for the free demo class, they really taught me some amazing things, even displayed it LIVE on the internet, by getting into a few websites and altering their database as well!

6. Anandhh (338) | 5 months ago | Hi buddy Ethical hacking is really a gud course but u can study and learn online than studying in an institute and spending money for it,,,but I hope u have joined a good institute and learn much about it..its really a useful course which you can learn completely about hacking and in depth about hacking and security...Are u intersted in other certification courses in networking like MCSE or CCNA??

jshekhar (1159) | 5 months ago | Hello friend, Thanks a lot for your advice. The thing with online training is that you do not know what to search for and where to start. When you have some doubts, there is no one to clarify it. you again have to search google for it and then you are lost in millions of matches.
Besides, getting trained by an institute gives you a certification which really boosts up your chances. Cheers!

| 7. davethegreat (35) | 5 months ago | I strongly advise you to take that course. First of all, as you said, it may have no point sitting all day at home, idle, with almost anything to do. Secondly, it is an add to your curriculum vitae, which always offer you an extra protection against unemployment. Thirdly, that are is still in expansion so it is quite useful to learn it. What is more, you also use it to protect yourself as well as to protect others and also, who knows, to make a little trap to a friend of yours and impress him with your knowledge. There is always time to learn more, and that area is particulary useful, trust me.
Best Regards

I did join that course form Monday and I've really loved the four hours I've spent with the instructor there in the two days. It's amazing how can you find loopholes in the strongest of systems and prove it vulnerable to attacks..

9. tskmjk55 (413) | 5 months ago | Hi My dear mylotter, I have done this course on my own and its very good. I followed Ankit Fadia's book and other online resources which have been inspiration for Ankit. Even though it is time consuming and sometimes complicated like Assembly language coding, it is worth and its fun if you are interested. I would always like to play a prankster and computers are my favourite props.
Its an added advantage when you go for Cyber Forensics since it deals with the most of the topics covered in Ethical Hacking. I would suggest you go for it.

jshekhar (1159) | 5 months ago | Hello friend, Thanks for the advice. There was an admission notice for a 6 month cyber forensics course recently. I did not go for it now because I want to get hands on training, involving a lot of practicals. Somehow I just do not seem to pay attention to correspondence courses. However, I want to do that once I start my job as I'd have done this course by then.
