Is Your Body A Shrine Or A 24/7 Cafe?

As I work out four to five times a week, I am serious about training and being fit which means I need to eat healthily and cut out the junk and make sure I am eating enough carbs and protein to give my body the fuel it needs whilst avoiding sugary and greasy 'junk' foods.
I have successfully cut out sweets, chocolate, cakes, biscuits and crisps/chips and I don't miss them! Occasionally I will have a small piece of dark chocolate or a couple of biscuits but that's it
I eat a lot of cereal, fruits, vegetables, eggs, chicken, fish, nuts (unsalted) and granary bread. I have also cut out coffee, I don't drink alchohol and I don't smoke or take drugs, not bad eh!
I kind of see my body as a shrine because I am working so hard to get it the way I like which will help my self-esteem having a body to be proud of, I've got a long way to go yet before I can be truly happy with it, but at least I am eating the right foods and cutting out all the junk food.
So are you conscious about what you are feeding your body? Is your body a shrine? Do you avoid junk and greasy foods?
But I am NOT on a diet I eat as much as I like providing it's healthy and energy giving so that my body can perform for 2-3 hours 4-5 times a week.
I am finding I am eating much more too! But it's good food and not rubbish

It's not a shrine because I smoke but other than that it depends on the day and how I feel. I don't eat burgers, unless I've made them myself, so I know what's in them. I NEED chocoalte on a regular basis, as one of my daughteers pointed out, chocolate is a vegetable, it's made from beans, beans are vegetables, therefore chocolate is a vegetable. I tend to stick to the type of diet I was brought up on, meat, vegetables and junk in moderation. I don't work out but I do walk to work and clean a nursery as a job. I have gone a bit mad in the garden recently and was surprised how much healthier I've felt. I know you love exercise but I need to have an end result so, for me, the gym would feel as if I was wasting my time.
Well done to you and keep it up, especially if it makes you feel good and hopefully boost your confidence.

The heat hasn't helped, we live in England it should be rainy and comfortable or cold.
Be careful though and don't make yourself ill by going to the gym too often.
Take care.

I wish I could cut out chocolate just like that, though I have cut down how much I eat I could never give it up. Before I do anything else I need to give up smoking I've been trying for ages and I think I'm actually ready to now. Once I've done that I'll work on improving my diet. I don't eat too badly anyway I don't eat a lot of fried food and junk, I do like a cheeseburger occasionally, in fact I like cheese with most things lol.

I knew that you are very interested in fitness, wolfie, and I envy your self-discipline. I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to eating and fitness.
I've been overweight for most of my life, and really would like to change that. I am doing much better since I became a type 2 diabetic, but sometimes I think I deliberately sabotage all of the good I've accomplished when I go off my diet. So, I definitely don't treat my body like the temple it is supposed to be.

It all kicked off when I started going to the gym my friend, initially to help with my depression and then because I got so into it, I decided to eat the right foods to help me and for some reason I have lost my sweet tooth that I used to have. When I remember what foods I used to eat as a child, it was no wonder I was a fat kid. You'd think having a nice body would improve my self esteem wouldn't you!

Hey wolfie! I am so not anything like you when it comes to
eating! I eat whatever and whenever I like! Sadly, this is
not a good thing! But, I am truly a junk food junkie! I love
snack food! I love cakes, cookies, chips, and all other bad
things! I am definitely a 24/7 Cafe of worse! I need to watch
what I eat, but I just can't! I love food! Lucking for me I
do watch my weight so I don't blow up like a blimp! I could
stand to lose a few pounds! I have terrible habits of all sorts!
I don't eat right or sleep right, smoke, do all the wrong things!
I have tried to fix my habits, but just seem to go back to the
sugary stuff! I drink diet soda, but I need my sugar! I just love
cake more than anything! Muffins, donuts, cupcakes, I can't live
without them! I could give up candy faster! What is wrong with me?
Help!!!

Trouble is when you are depressed or unhappy you turn to comfort eating. I actually turn to gambling which is not helpful or financially benefit for a wolfie pocket. My palate has changed so much in that I can't eat milk chocolate and I have just lost my sweet tooth which I used to have, I can only put it down to my age and my obsession to be fit. But it's switched the other way I am a health freak now. I think the only thing I find hard to give up is cheese would you believe! So I have to ration myself there.

Mine is more like a 24/7 cafe than a shrine. I try to work out and keep active, and I like healthy food... but I really enjoy some kind of sweet at least once a day. It doesn't have to be much, but a little taste of chocolate.... yumm! My children, however, eat very healthily. I make sure that they are getting all the nutrients they need. When they are older they can pollute the shrine as they wish.

I cheekily forgot to mention ice cream didn't I, well that is one thing I still have, lollies too but my excuse they keep me cool in this darn heat! Diet is important in children, I read in the paper I think it was today the obesity in children is growing at an alarming rate. Worrying!

I need to learn to be more shrine like. I don't go to the gym but my job gives me quite a bit of physical activity so I am good there. I am unfortunately a slave to my tummy. I eat terribly bad. I don't over eat, I just eat crap most of the time. I'm trying to learn....
