Do you set the time advance than the correct time, or do you set it late? Or you just set the exact time? Me I always set my watch advance than the correct time. I always put an allowance. It helps me to prevent being late. But sometimes I still got late because I know that my watch is advance. Lol!. That is how I set the time on my watch. I already used to it. How about you? How do you set the time on your watch?

I set my watch on the exact time. It helps me do my work in time also i am not delayed thinking thats its early or late. Bu ta few years back i used to set my watch 10 mins advance but that would never make my scheduled tasks to finish in time i used to be delayed by 10 mins. So i deceided to correct myself and started setting my watch for the exact time... And it worked for me prefectly. Now i finish my tasks in time or a bit earlier. Try it out!!

Hey!! its good that you want to try out with the exact time setting... Just curious to know if you are presently getting your tasks done before time or in time without a watch ,as you have mentioned that your watch is not functioning properly.

You know, I might just do this! I find it better to set it at exact time, yeah! But currently my watch is sorta damaged. :(

You have a good practice. You seems to be a very disciplined person. It's really good for you that it works perfectly with you. That is the most ideal. Maybe I will try it out, hope I can easily adjust. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Well, I don't have a watch. I will say I rely on the time as displayed on my cell phone all the time when I'm out. For me, I prefer to set the time as the exact time. Well, I think it's no point setting it earlier or later. You are the one who set the time, and will know that it's earlier or later than the exact time. So, when it comes to meet-up, although the meeting time is reaching soon, you will tell yourself that it's okay as you have set the time earlier... Thus, it will defeat the purpose of setting it earlier/later. This is why I prefer to set it to the "exact time" so that I will know if I'm early or late.

Yes, you are correct, that is the best setting actually, to set it to the exact time. You are disciplined enough to get on time for your meetings and appointments. That is really good for you. Many people find it hard to be on time, like me. Lol! Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Well, I'm not actually "disiplinced". It's just that if I set the time in advance, I know with my character, it's of no use to me, as I will probably take into account of the advanced time and walk/do things a bit slower. I had tried before, and it got me into "trouble" of being late instead... I rather set the correct time, so that I will rush if I see that it's going to reach the appointment time soon. I will try to be on time if possible, as I don't like for people to wait for me, nor me to wait for people...

I have a tendency to set my watch and clocks ahead by as much as 5 minutes. I like to be on time especially for an appointment like doctor or dentist as they have busy schedules and don't like to keep them waiting on me.

Hello markmoney!!! Well there was a time when I used to do like you. I used to make the time more than 5 minutes advanced than the actual time. So, that I get pshycologically affected to think that I am late and hurry to get in time. It worked for some days, but my heart started knowing perfectly that my watch was advanced haha...Then I started deliberately waiting for the advanced time to get away. Then it wont work further. Also if you set the time slower i.e slower than the real time, you will have same psycological effect. But here you have to realize that the time is slow than the original time, and the real time is already gone and so again hurry huh...haha...just the psycological effect... But nowadays, I keep my watch right in time. NO faster, no slower... Interesting discussion, Happy mylotting...

Haha! That is really the problem with the time being faster or slower, we knew it, so it becomes useless. Lol! Yes, I think it's really better to set it on the exact time. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Haha! I am also like that. I advance the time on my watch, but the problem is I know that it's advance, so the tendency is to relax. Lol! I hope we can find the setting that will work for us. So that we can avoid getting late. Hehe. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

I keep my watch running a few minutes fast as that way I am not late for an appointment! When working on my computer, I can so easily forget the time and as I work here in between work clients, I need to take care that I am ready for them... - Derek

I always set the time in my watch a little ahead. I think many people do that. It is very useful for me because I don't want to reach any place late, instead I can reach there early. I have seen my dad doing that. I have also seen my aunt adjusting the clock in kitchen 20 minutes ahead, but whenever she looks at it she calcuates the exact time subtracting 20 minutes and work accordingly. Lol.

Hahaha! We are really the same. Actually I started to set up my watch just a little time advance, but when I still get late, I will advance it more, and so on. That's why now, it's already advance by 30 minutes. Lol! Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

When i was still working, i also prefer to set my watch 10 minutes earlier. So, when i saw the time on my watch, i know i am reaching my office, always 10 minutes earlier. Since i was a homemaker now, i prefer to set my watch the exact time. But, i still set my alarm clock, 10 minutes earlier, so i won't wake-up in a rush. I had been practising it for a few months, and feel it had helped me a lot...

I normally synchronize my watch exactly with the time we have in our work. Like now, the time in our work place is 15 mins. advance compared to the time we have at home that we based on the time we saw in TV. I just want to know exactly if I am near to being late or I still have lots of time while I'm on my way to work. Of course I don't want to be late for work.

Yes, that is the better thing to do. To adjust your watch to the time at your workplace. The other thing you should do is to avoid looking at the clock in your house. Lol! Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

I set my watch to the exact time. No point of setting it in advance when I know I'll use the extra time to delay and ended up delaying more than I am suppose to. I find it amusing how some people can set their time later than the exact time. Are they avoiding getting old or what? LOL. But I like mine as it is, exact to the seconds!

I rely on my cellphone for time but I always keep it ten minutes in advance. I do this to give me time not to be late in most appointments. But there are times I still get late because I know I've set my time ten minutes in advance (same as you .. lol) And then there are times when my friends say they are not late just that my time is advance that's why I should not really so panicky in time.

It's been a long time since I wore a watch but when I did it was always set a few minutes fast, the same with the clock in my car when I use to drive. Although I knew they were always a head of time it was a great way of making sure I got somewhere or did something in time rather than having to stress out when running late.

I always set my watch accurate. I wear a Breitling which should be accurtate. So I basically only need to set it when the summertime or wintertime comes. The other watches are set more or less on time. I got a too big collection to keep them all on the secound.

That's funny haha... I normally set my watch 10 minutes before the actual time, like you said, to prevent of being late. However, if I start to work at 8.00 a.m. I seldom come in 10 minutes before or earlier, in fact I'll always arrive around 8.10 a.m. LOL!!
