Do you believe that you will be rewarded if you did a good thing? |
|
It is a general question, and would it be a truth? Some religion believe that if you done a good thing toward somebody or a group of people, you might be rewarded. Even though you didn't ask for the reward. Would you believe it? The reward I am talking about is not the gifts or monetary present you will be receiving. Maybe it is something else in a mysterious way. I don't really know how to explain it in a more effective way, but hopefully you understand what I am saying here. Don't you believe that?

I am one person who does believe that. I also beieve that you just feel so much better when you do kind things for other people. I am one of those people who can get quite the guilty conscious if I was to even be offensive to another, or if I do not help out another when I know that it is easy for me too. Therefore, me helping another out when I could've makes me feel very bad inside. Doing good things without an obvious reward still gives to the warm and cozy feeling of being a great person!

That would help you to continue doing good stuff. But its is way better not to believe that you are going to be rewarded. In that way you would not be disappointed. I believe that whether you want it or not what is supposed to happen, will happen. It does not depend on the number of good things that you have done. If a person gets rewarded for doing good, he should be punished for doing bad. But that is not what we see in the world around us. Osama bin Laden is still alive. Why? If a person does get punished for doing bad, this World would have a better lace to live in.

3. jshekhar (1159) | 5 months ago | Hello Clorissa! Yes, I am a God fearing man and I do believe that whatever you give to others, you get it back some time or the other. You might not get back within a day or a week, sometimes it might even take years but that doesn't discourage me from doing the good things and making others happy by helping them out.

We are God's children so why would he punish us for something he knows fully well we're safe in doing--you let your children learn through experience and steer them gently. I do think that God rewards highly those who are able to treat other equal as themselves and even more so for those less fortunate than themselves because God's revelation to us is that were all one in the same and godlike ourselves and will offer these gifts up to us if we'd only acknowledge this. Faith of a mustard seed.

5. uicbear (1537) | 5 months ago | There's a saying that always pops into my head when someone starts talking about doing a good deed. That saying is, "No good deed goes unpunished." And this basically means that when you do a good deed, usually it causes you some inconveinence or a bad outcome in some way.
I never think about what the possible rewards of my good deeds might be. I try to do things for people to help them out, or make them feel good or cared for or special. It makes me feel good in the moment knowing that I helped someone else. That's enough for me.

7. rakesh284 (826) | 5 months ago | Well I know it is really difficult to explain it in words but I think I can understand it. I am believing in this thing as when we are doing good things then our past bad activity might be neutralized or we may get some good thing in the future. We just to hope that our life is observed by our creators and we have to live in the best way we can without hurting anyone else because we have to pay the price in the future if we are doing something wrong. We all know a good quote - "As you sow so shall you reap!!"

| 8. gojiku (5) | 5 months ago | I believe that you should do good things without expecting a reward for doing them. That is what doing good things for people is all about in the first place, if you somehow get something as a reward for your good deed than great, if not then that is fine to.

9. meyows (429) | 5 months ago | i do believe that i will be rewarded if i did a good thing. it just happens with everyone. there's a saying what you sow that you reap. whether you get the reward early in your life or late but you will get it. you believe it or not you will get a good result for your every good deed. the situations will be like you stuck in a trouble but will come out of it automatically finding the easy solution, which you think as people say it's your luck or luckily you are saved by god's grace. in fact it's not the god that saved you but your own deeds will be rewarded.

| 10. ladybountyhunter17 (35) | 5 months ago | I definatly believe in Karma and let me tell you why. My ex-best friend got jealous because i got a raise..so she insisted to spread rumors saying that i was having an affair with my boss..Needless to say she was pulled over, arrested for drugs and fired the next day...So she found a new best friend and moved in with her.. Well her and her "new best friend" got into a dilemma because she wouldnt pay rent so they sued her for rent money.. She moved back into her parents house.. After losing her job, rent-a-center repoed her belongings back which was pretty much everything she owned, her car got repoed, and her and her parents got evicted from their double wide trailer.
Wow..Karma is a B***h!
