Why do some people prefer watching old movies?  

Old movies are the originals and the cinematography and the story behind every scene is still unmatched compare to the latest movies. The only differences is in terms of technology being used in the past is not yet advanced in comparison to the new generation movies. The sounds effects is enigmatic and crispy clear and the actors look life huge in real size. But the essence of the storied in old movies is more on the realistic story in compare to new movies where it almost full of fantasy and computer generated images.

They were all fantastic actors and actresses. Basically, I also loved to watch them but I am still young or not yet born when they are still showing. James bond movies is the old movies to my point of view that i consider as of my times. But, I also watch the black and white movies of Elvis priestly the tender love and of Elizabeth Taylor lovers in paris. they are all classic movies and even the young at heart who are curious to know the past should watch old movies to know the period of history during those times. this enables the youth to appreciate the values of watching old movies.

Hi neelancoscet, a lot of my favourites were way before my time but I love Greta Garbo movies which are really old. I always prefer the original movie to a remake, except for Sparticus.

Yes, old movies never lose the real character which movie actresses and actors portrays during this times exhibit human values where the viewers enjoy and the same time they get moral lessons from it. In comparing movies of today they are more high tech and advanced but more commercialized. Some are copy cat version but cannot equal the original classical movies. Although, it black and white, but you could really appreciate the acting of the stars is superb and less portraying of obscene scenes which corrupt young mind in today generation movies.

hi checkmail, old movies is rich in good values and the main theme of the movies is caters to the general public open to all ages. While in today movies all are commercialized we may appreciate the life size, colorful background and advanced sounds which are good to heard in theater. But, the essence of the movies is lost, a lot of pretty and handsome stars graced the movies. But their acting is poor compare to the older movies where the stars is very skillful and their acting is truly magnificent. I also observe that old movies are reminder of the essential history period and it is important to store them in movies archives so that young people can still watch and appreciated the directing and acting of the stars.

I am also an avid fan of James Bond movies aka agent oo7. Although the scene is now a classical movies, I like the story and it is fun filled action flick keep me nail on my seat. The story maker Ian Fleming is the best and every plot of the movies scenes is exciting and advanced during those times is an exceptional quality incomparable to today movies. they are simply imitation although the film making is more advanced with the modern technology, with sound effects and computer generated images. i could say that the simplicity of old movies really values the moral story rather than the commercialized value of many film making company produce are mainly for profit not really the genuine interest of the cinema goers fanatics.

I am a fan of romance and action classical old movies. I am able to watch the old frankenstein classic horror movies and also classical Disney movies. By merely watching old movies i am able to know the real history of the period during those times and even though i am not really present during those times. i can relate to the movies and learn to appreciate the past.

yes all is true and i also notice film making are up to sell their movies which features lot of sexual acts and provocative scenes. even the latest movies, such as transformers the two digs are also included doing their own stuff. many find it as entertaining but if we really dig on its real values as you mention are completely rubbish. if the viewer are minors they may interpret scenes as completely alright but their is no adult to take an advice they may get the explanation from wrong peers and even given wrong advices. So far movies are rated as for general public, r-18 or x-rated. But, some scenes which resort to violence and explicit sexual acts manage to slip in the whole movies. In comparison to old movies they are decent and full story of the movies gives lesson to serve as guide to the viewers and inspiration which they seek to emulate.

Even today movies will become old movies and the only things to do to remaining enjoying them is to reserve them in the achives for movies. So that even our future grandchildren can appreciate its values and also way for them to know the history of the past. It is reminiscing the past we could fully appreciate where we use to be young and reminding us of what style or the fashion during those good oldie movies.

I already watch those movies and they are truly great. They are sci-fi, romantic and full of adventures. They can make any dull mind active again after watching it. You really imagine yourself immersed in the life of the leading character. They act well and the directing, cinematography as well as the theme of the story are very awakening, amazing and superb to last. even the new generation could fully enjoy it and they would not be bored in watching it. the best seller movies are the old and classic movies unforgettable and even in your sleep you could dream of it.

Every countries have their own old movies based on tradition and respective cultures which manifested during those historical periods. You could best to recall it when you need to know the happenings or the theme, fashion and the actiong stars of great movies which you only heard from older people. By merely watching old movies you learn to know its values and its importance of the mass media as very effective form of communication and it could be express in movies.
