Have you visited any caves in the world?

I fondly remember visiting the ATM caves in Belize. It was so exciting to swim into the cave, do much climbing and see Mayan broken pieces of pottery. I had a light on my forehead and a helmet on my head. I had a swim wear under my clothes for the swim. The guide carried all the cameras when we had to swim. It was a different experience to visit some caves in Sumatra. It was challenging to climb up a ladder into the dark cave. Bats were flying around near the entrance. Inside our light wasn't enough for us to see very much at all. I felt nervous not being able to see much. Have you been to any caves? If so, in which countries? What was the experience like?

Hi friend, i was recently visted BORRA CAVES in Vizag(india). My mother tongue is telugu, in telugu the borra caves are called as Borra guhalu. It is very popular place cinema shootings, suitable cool rainy environment for newly marrieged couple and especially children enjoyed well in that atmosphere. Actually my town is 800km distance from Borracaves. Up to vizag we can have aeroplane facility, from vizag to borracaves approximately 80kms. If possible you must visit it. Happy postings from ramesh chowdary, warangal.

Hi, maximax8. I have never visited any caves at all before. I know that you have enjoyed yourself. I hope that you enjoy having more trips that you can explore yourself on.

I have only visited caves once, and that was about forty years ago. The caves, about 100 or so kilometres east of Melbourne, are called 'Buchan Caves." While the guided tour was very interesting, the experience didn't inspire me to search for other caves.

Yes, quite a few. And it has always been something that I enjoyed and marveled at. It's interesting because I would never have guessed I would enjoy it - not exactly claustrophobic, but something a bit similar. Maybe the fact that many of the caves I visited where big and didn't feel like they were closing on me. I also did some swimming in a cave, but felt the water really cold and didn't like the fact that it was hard to see what was under the water. The smallest cave I was in, I explored with a group of friends and it wasn't all that safe - one of the friends that was a bit bigger almost got stuck while we were crawling to get to the main cave. Again it was interesting that I enjoyed that because it was even closer to my problem, feeling that I can't move because there is no space to do so would play out when crawling in a small tunnel like opening where I could feel the ceiling touching my back as I moved along. But I did enjoy it. And it was worth, the main cave was beautiful:)

I have been to one here in Missouri, the Merimac Caverns. It is a fasinating place to go and I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if I did not have pnemonia at the time but my ex-b/f insisted that I go even though I was very sick at the time. Maybe one day I will go back again. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

I have only been at a couple of very small caves. One was just a man made cave but the other was a natural cave with all the beautiful formations the salt leaves during the hundreds or thousand of centuries. It was awesome. The guide put off the light for seconds and I experienced a degree of darkness I had never seen in my life. It was a memorable moment.

I visited some caves when I was youner in the south of France on a school trip but, unfortunately do not know the names of the caves - I remember it was very difficult to navigate them as we had to twist and turn our way down them but, it was great fun! x
