I remember alot of them. The pet rock, trolls.....stirup pants....Did you have a favorite fad you wish hadn't ended? Do you still have memorabilia from a fad? Do you wish any of them would come back? I know several that have gone around and around like tie dyed clothes....what would be your favorite?

Yes, we had a bunch of them. i know once my best friend & i like to have gotten a whipping. Girls didn't waer sweat shirts back then & we were up in her attic & found all these shirts that her dad used for hunting. we each got us one & wrote everybody's names, song titles, elvis etc. HE THREATENED OUR LIVES OVER THAT, LOL. wE WORE SKIRTS W/ALOT OF CAN CAN PETTICOATS UNDER THEM ,alot of pink & BLACK, LITTLE LACE COLLORS ON OUR SWEATERS, JUST ALOT OF FUN THINGS. I don't have any of that but do have a dress my mother made for me when i was about 10 i guess.the 50's were a fun time for me.

I did like the stirup pants because they kept my legs warm when I sat down. However, they hurt the bottoms of my feet where the stirups went under the arch. My legs are long and I was always thin. So I needed a smaller size but the length of my legs pulled. I have that skinny leg syndrome..lol I was really big into the candy fad when younger. Remember the button candy on a white strip of paper? Or the wax bottles with pure liquid syrup in them where we would bite off the top, drink the liquid and then chew the wax bottle like gum? I did begin collecting matches about 30 yrs. ago from everywhere we traveled. Never did do anything with them except store them in a Bailey's Irish Cream decanter.

Wax has gotten harder or our teeth have gotten softer? Maybe a combo of both! Can't believe how much sugar I ingested over my kiddie years. Those were the good, ole days.

I really liked jelly shoes. Everyone seemed to wear them in the '80s. I begged my mom to get me a pair, and I was so excited when she did. As for memorabilia from days gone by? How about a Steve Urkel doll from the show Family Matters. You know, the nerd? You pull the string and he says several things, including, did I do that?

Hey jill! I think that I really like the tie dyed clothes and the faded jeans! I mean the really faded jeans that were faded from really wearing them not like they have today! And when they really ripped too! Not like they sell them today! They sell the for so much money to rip them before you buy them! Damn! I could have made a fortune if I had saved my jeans!lol

In the 70's I was a teenager, and there were cool jeans with bell bottoms and the jeans had silver studs on them. I had a pair that fit really nice, and I loved them. They looked stylish.

I loved bell bottoms! We also would put slits in the sides of our jeans and sew in extra material! They were so cool!

Yes! Bring back the hairbands! lol. I love 80's music and would love for it to come back again! Oh and sweatshirts that hung down on one shoulder like from Flashdance. More family shows on TV like the Cosby Show or Family Ties. There doesn't seem to be anymore around these days. And most of all... Music videos! I mean REAL music videos! The kind that MTV used to play! I can remember how excited I was when we got MTV, thanks to an error with the cable company, and laying on the living room floor watching Madonna singing Like a Virgin. Nowadays MTV is a parent's nightmare and a channel my kids will NOT get to know!

I really miss the tye dyed T shirts. They were just so much fun to make and wear. They did not cost alot and anyone could use the colors that they wanted. I still think that they are so cool with jeans. This topic brings back the memories.
