Are you a doodler? Has it helped you in any way?

I tend to draw them when I am bored in class or sometimes just bored in general. I've never been a good artist and wish I was better. I think if I was better that I would probably doodle more than I do. I usually doodle my name in bubble letters or flowers and smiley faces when I doodle. What kinds of things do you doodle?

I used to doodle in school a lot. Once I did a pretty decent portrait of my 8th grade math teacher. But I don't really doodle any more. Once in a while for my kids, but other than that, no.

Being an artist, I tend to doodle a heck of a lot! If I am bored and want something to do, I will usually grab and bit of paper around, a pencil or pen, and start doodling. Even if it's on an add or the tiniest bit of paper available. I tend to draw some manga like images or simple things life treble clefs or hearts and boxes. I have a tendancy to draw eyes for the most part.

It both delights and bugs my sister. Whenever she is looking for paper to collect for recylcling she will find one of my doodles. She doesn't have the heart to throw it out so that means she has to keep it.

I used to doodle a lot as a kid at home. Eventually, I only started to doodle in notebooks during class whenever I was bored - which was quite often. I still draw a lot because I'm studying to be a professional artist, but it's more serious art now. Hmmm...I guess I can call it serious doodling.

Hey mimpi! Does that mean that you are sort of an artist in
the making? I have never been a doodler or a scribbler! I
guess I sort of wish I were! I am supposed to be artist
according to my "sign" "Libra"! But, nope! I am not in the
least bit! I used to write poetry and do like to do a bit of
crafts and that kind of stuff! But, when it comes to pictures
and doodles I am just not interested! Maybe you should show
us some of your work! You might have some hidden talent there
waiting to get out!

I'm a doodler!! However, after doodling - i don't really see "art" in it so I just toss it in a pile of random papers. I doodle a lot when I'm bored or when I'm thinking too much and my mind cant make up it's mind! Hahahahaha - does that make any sense?

Anyway - I tend to think that I'm no artist. However, I've seen some pretty creative "doodles" and think to myself, how come I can't come up with something like that?

I doodle seldomly. And the times that i do it's more of a scribble that it would not even fall in the most abstract froms of art.

Why don't you upload one of your doodled images, Mimpi? It would be great to see them. I can usnderstand doodling as ways of speaking to yourself, but it also helps in making you seeing things differently and helps in raising your creatvity. I have always thought that it's a good way to express yourself. And the best thing it's a free form of expression, one that does not require you to finish it.

How are you doing? Yes I can say that I am a doodler too. Whenever I am free and unfortunately, I've nothig else to do or I am sitting idle with a pen and paper, I start scribbling or drawing some sketches/figures. I love to draw flowers or bunches of flowers. It is said that whatever we scribble or draw has some meaning. Every figure we draw shows our hidden emotions in the form of a scatch. Constructing some geomatarical figure like drawing a circle, triange or square has some singnificant meanings. Sketching someone's face, who is sitting in front of you, shows artistic quality in one' hand. Our thoughts, imaginations and tensions also get reflected in our scribbling.

Hi mimipi, Yes sometimes specially if I have nothing to do, like when I'm talking to someone on the phone and I have my pencil and paper with me. Sometimes if I'm also bored and thinking.

I tend to do doodles when I am really bored and there is nothing else better to do. lol. I'm not a really good at drawing things or caricatures. I practice my graffiti type writing. I even write down some weird things.
