Do you like reading? Who's your favorite author? Fiction or Non fiction?

i like reading. and i like non fiction for example "Harry Potter" this book is very good i like this very much.and J.K Rowling is this book's author.so i like her very much.

Much like you, I am a big fan of reading. I too will read the cereal box, but prefer to have a newspaper at the table whenever possible. My favorite author is Piers Anthony; I love his Xanth series, it is "light" reading about an imaginary magical place and it is filled with silly puns. I love the Xanth series because each book is a vacation for my head, I can completely escape everything and just relax. The books are easy to read which I like too, even though I do enjoy "higher minded" things, sometimes it's good to just kick back and let the story take you - you don't have to think about it or try to analyze it - you just enjoy the ride!

I've also read a lot of Stephen King, and non-fiction books on just about anything. I like books filled with oddball facts, those are always fun and you can then be like Cliff Claven form Cheers and bring up the most obscure facts at random moments. LOL

Hi! I spend most of my time now either writing my own books or writing topics and responding here at myLot but when I did read I had too many favorite authors to simply list my all time favorite. Some of my favorite authors are;

Stephen King, Everything up to and including the Dark Tower series.
Dean Koontz, Phantoms was my favorite but like em all.
Larry Niven, Ringworld is one of the best sci fi I've ever read!
Greg Bear, Sphere is an awesome novel, totally unexpected
Isaac Asimov, the guru of scifi in his time, loved em!
Robert Heinlein, Cat who Walked Through Walls, Number of the Beast, Lazaraus series
Frank Herbert, Lazaraus effect, Dune series,
Patrick McManus, Night the bear ate Goombaw, Rubber legs and white tail hairs, more
Don Pendleton, Executioner Series

These are just o few of the greatest authors off the top of my head and I know there are many more I just don't remember since I have several novels trying to escape at this very moment!

Im also a danielle steel fan. I also like Sidnet Sheldon's "When Tomorrow Comes" where shes a bank teller and got prison, when she got out, before she knew it, she became a con artist and a thief! Its really nice. I also like Niel Gaiman, his books are science fiction and fantasy that includes Stardust movie and Neverwhere. Im also a Twilight Saga fan! lols! Paulo Coelho is also good, its more about reflection stuff..i have all his books. Im not a harry potter fan, but i love the movies, lol.

i read non fiction most of the time because i am a history fanatic. i like anything to do with history pretty much. i don't read a whole lot of fiction, only when i have nothing else to read. i do read danielle steel once in a while and like the book 'message from nam'.

Like you I will read things like cereal boxes and stuff too, I just love to read. I used to be into almost all fiction horror, my favorite was Stephen King, John Saul and Dean Koontz. I do still like their books occasionally. I love the paranormal and read alot of those non-fiction books. I have been reading alot of homesteading books and such too. Hmmm I dont think there is anything I dont really read other then romance. I just cant get into them really as they all are basically the same it seems. I have been reading alot on Gettysburg and the Civil War too.

I have a lot of books and I do keep some and re-read them every year, one that I suggest to almost everyone is Two Old Woman. It is about Indians (my heritage) and it is just a really good book on how to old Indian Women survived the bitter cold on their own. I read it once a year. Anyways I read alot of different types of books and enjoy them all.

I have always been very passionate about reading, dloveli, and my family marvels at the number of books I go through. I also have a couple hundred books that I had thought of getting rid of, but I just decided the other day to buy a bigger bookcase instead. My favorite authors include Stephen King, James Lee Burke, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Lee Child, Nora Roberts, and Agatha Christie. I will read from practically any genre. Paranormal Romance is my current favorite. Stephen King is my favorite Horror author, followed by Dean Koontz, Douglas Preston, John Saul. My favorite PR authors include Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Lora Leigh, Karen Marie Moning. The series I follow include Dark Hunters, Carpathians, Ghostwalkers, and the Fae series. My reading habit occasionally spins out of control and I have to cancel all of my book clubs until I can once again get a handle on it.
