Was anyone famous born in your hometown or close by?  

Some artist and writers are near my home town.It also not famous but because of these people,the place is famous since at end of their name they use place name.

How cool to discover all of that about david Arquette! Yes as a matter of fact , "Michelle Pfieffer" ived right behind mama's house, we went to high school together! My brother , Ron also dated her for a whole year! She now lives in hawaii, where hr & my brother are now neighbors there! Her parnts still live beind mama...Lori

Joe Louis was born in this area where I live. They have activities around here now honoring him even have built statues of him. I can't think of anyone else right now. I have heard that James Brown was born somewhere in Georgia. We do have a few football players that has made professional teams that were from here.

i am from the Philippines, there's no celebrity living in my town but one of the most famous person in my country was born in my hometown Calamba, Laguna...he's non other than our national hero...Dr. Jose Rizal.

It's fascinating to find out that we have celebrities born in the same place as us, like it makes them related or something!
We have Sean Connery born 25 August 1930 in Edinburgh, Scotland and my family lived just around the corner from his brother.
We also have Alexander graham Bell inventor of the telephone. John Napier inventor of logarithms (he also has a university named after him) Bay City Rollers.. a pop group from the 70's, there's also Sir Arthur conan Doyle who gave us Sherlock Holmes

Since St. Louis Missouri is a big city I am sure there are alot of them but the only one I can think of right now is the one that played the husband (DAN) on the TV show Roseanne. His name has slipped my mind right now,

You know the band Staind? They're from the town just over from me. Also, there's a country singer named Ashley Gearing *forgive me if I spelled her last name wrong* who is from the same area. One of our supplier's daughter went to school with her!

Aside from that, I don't know! Great question tho.

Oh, you know that movie In Dreams? I used to work for a hotel where all the actors & directors & such were staying at & 1 of my co-workers' granddaughter was an extra in it. Does that count?????

well these 4 were not born in my area but they were born in my city....THE BEATLES....yep, the fab 4, and get this...our ex prime minister (tony blair) well, his wife sherie Blaire was born just a few roads from where i live, she is a proper liverpudlian but has obviously been to speech school because she doesn't talk in the same accent as us, but she was born and raised right here. she went to the posh school, unlike us, we went to the normal primary and high school, but she was thrown into an all girls boarding school, maybe this is why she speaks differently than we do...
