Computer Mouse Problem?  

Sounds like a hardware problem, guess my best suggestion is to replace it with a new one, it shouldn't be too expansive these days unless you are trying to get a flashy designed one or some that are specialy designed for gaming

When that happened to me I just replaced my mouse. I was able to find one for super cheap. Like 5 dollars. I use my right click and it was driving me nuts to not be able to. If you have another mouse and it works I would just use that and save the money. Good luck and happy mylotting.

Try using another Mouse first and make sure it is the Mouse that is at fault and if it is then by all means do replace it

Dear worldwise, before you replace that mouse try the following:

Swapping your right click button: Go to Start> Control Panel> Mouse

then select the "Switch primary and secondary buttons" options and click OK.

If the problem persists, open the mouse (its easy) and see if there's any connection problem in the right click button. Little cleaning and moving of the parts may do the trick.

If above fail, replace with a new mouse.

Did you clean it? I have a laptop but I recall at work that I would have a problem occasionally with mine and someone gave me the idea of cleaning out the inner workings of it. I did that and it worked fine. Hope it is that easy for you. And I don't think the basic ones are that expensive. I would think about getting a laptop. Heehee

It happens when the base of the clicking mechanism in the mouse is dirty, or the contact point has become faulty. Well, there's no point cleaning or fixing it as the problem would recur later. Just discard and get a new one... this time, get one from a more reputable brand. It costs more, but lasts longer.

I am sorry to hear that you are having mouse problems. I hate it when that happens. I had problems with my mouse for a long time too and thought it has something to do with my computer also. I replaced the mouse and the problem went away.

My guess would be your mouse is worn out. I would replace it since they are inexpensive. You can try another mouse and see what happens.

If you don't use your right mouse button then I wouldn't worry about it. Even if you do use it it's no great loss. If you have another mouse, use that one. I once had a mouse and the left click went strange...it was very hard to use and annoying to boot so I got rid of it and replaced it.
