Could you fall asleep when it is hot with no wind?

It is not easy for me to fall asleep when there is no wind. But, it depends on some other factors. If I am very tired, I can sleep without wind even if it is very hot. I prefer to havean air conditioner at home during very hot time. I am also ok with a fan. I used to have AC when I stayed at home with my husband. Now, I am in a hostel and there is only one fan.

I basically don't have any problem falling to sleep at night even if it is very hot. Only thing that worries me is cold. I cannot sleep well in cold. I need a good covering of blankets to make my body warm and comfortable. Even if it is very hot I sleep well and get up after a good sleep-cycle with my shirt wet. Not a big thing to bother.

For me it is difficult to sleep while hot and no wind. I would either have the Air Cooler or fan while I sleep and when the electricity is gone I find it difficult to sleep if it is hot. Moreover the place I live has some natural wind.

I am from India and we usually have a lot of power cuts at nights. So we can't turn on the fan or the Air Conditioner. And we also cannot count much on winds to keep us cool. On days like these, all we can do is just turn from side to side on the bed hoping that the power will come back soon. And in addition to this we'll also have to suffer mosquito bites! So to make it short we never sleep on such days. Even in summers without rain, it's very hard to get some sleep. And we normally don't turn on the AC as the electricity bills may give us heart attacks!

I am very keen on traveling my dear friend Williamjisir. I went to St Lucia in the Caribbean when I was 19 years old. In the night time it was very hot and humid. even with just a sheet over me I felt uncomfortable with the heat and humidity. The air-conditioner was coin operated and it sounded as loud as a lawn mower. Frogs were making a noise. I got used to the heat and the lack of a breeze rather than the awful noise of the air-conditioning system.

I went to Jordan when I was in my mid twenties. It was really hot there but dry. In Petra there was heat and lots of sunshine in the day. It stayed hot all night without any breeze. I didn't want to sleep in a room I chose to sleep on a flat roof. It was lovely apart from the sounds at dawn. So sometimes sleeping outside if possible is the answer instead of in an airless room.


The hottest and most humid nights I spent in Darwin in Australia. I had a shower, dried myself and two minutes later I was wet again. It was so hot and humid that I couldn't believe it. It certainly never gets like that in my home country.

I can. But it will have to come with lots of effort of course. I like sleeping whenever I get the chance to do it during the day.

No way. I cannot sleep when it is hot. An AC would help but AC generally is not good for health. Even when I fall tired, I won't feel sleepy when it is hot. Fan is the last option I would opt becauuse it makes the surroundings even hotter.

Air Conditioner is the best option. I am feeling very suffocated to talk more on this topic.

In my place summer is gone and rainy reason entered into our place.Now it is cool for us.But truely last 3 months back we also suffered like you.The bed used to get hot and me and my parents couldn't sleep well and they are some days when we won't even slept properly due to hot conditions.We used to keep the bedroom by pouring cool water on the floor and closing all the doors at the morning times so that sun won't enter into that room.In this way we used to do to red of hot conditions.But now due to rains we are feeling much better and happily enjoying it.
