Have you ever wanted to pen down a story but it just never began and never ended?
I have like a gazillion ideas/ plots in my head. But i just can never get it down proper on paper. It's funny. When i attempt, the words just eludes me.
I think i'm better at reading instead.
What about you?

3. texasheartland (1194) | 6 months ago | I have always wanted to write a non-fiction book since I can't seem to write fiction as well as other authors. I would say to start writing something that interests you and something you can talk about with your friends, such as music or such. I find it easier that if you can your friends' ear off about a subject, then it shouldn't be too hard to put it on paper, though it is easier said than done. I know that when I wanted to start writing my non-fiction, I could easily write the chapters but found it difficult to write them to where they would be x amount of pages long instead of a couple of paragraphs.

4. LaurenInLA (931) | 6 months ago | I love to write. Like you, I used to feel that I could never actually write a story. My advice to you is to do just that. Sit down and put words on paper. Doesn't really matter whether they're relevant right now. Just create a character and I think that you will find that the character will lead you to the story. In final form, my stories are rarely what I envision them to be when I first sat down to write it. I finished my first novel in June and just got an agent to represent it two weeks ago. Best of luck to you.

6. pranavpillai93 (213) | 6 months ago | I would never want to write a story because am sure that I do not have the skills to write one. You'll need brains, good grammar and creativity to write a successful story. I think I lack all three of them!!!

regal_aeros (1866) | 6 months ago | haha...
i don't think any one person can lack creativity.. Just that it's hard to put it down into words i guess...=)

7. SomeCowgirl (8491) | 6 months ago | I feel the same way sometimes. Though I have a lot of ideas for a story, it gets jumbled up and never seems right on paper. I feel I give too much detail, or too little. I want the readers to feel what I feel, though I don't want them to be bored. There are a lot of different ideas and exercises to be found online, and other things such as story plot generators that can either help or hinder the story writing process.

| 8. lacroix707 (59) | 6 months ago | I do write short stories. Longer ones are a bit of a problem for me. I get lost in thought. You're right, if you have one too many ideas, it'd be hard to focus on one and write about it. But it never hurt anyone to try, right?:-)

|
regal_aeros (1866) | 5 months ago | yeap.. it doesn't hurt... Just that i need the patience to really sit down and pen it all down on paper.

9. Improbability (128) | 6 months ago | I used to write short mystery stories all the time. That drifted off as I got older. Now I find myself in the opposite shoes. I want to write, I YEARN to have something to put on paper, I just can't think of anything that I want to write. There have been a couple times when I've been struck with an idea. And those stories come out great, just flow right out of me. If I try to write a story that hasn't "struck" me, it usually comes out like crap. I know the best way to be "struck" would be write more, I just hate writing when I feel it's crap.
I have a friend who is like you, and has stories gallore in his head, and just doesn't find the time to write them. I joke that we should partner up.

10. allegradream (108) | 6 months ago | Hi, I used to have some amazing dreams, and as soon as I started to write down what happened in a story, it used to just disappear from me and I couldnt find the words! but i found that if I wrote a few notes, I could actually write a poem to describe the dream or how I felt in it, much clearer than writing a full blown story:)I would love to write an epic but cant seem to fill in those descriptive gaps or pad it out enough to make sense without being boring...Im working on animations at the moment, which is again based on a dream, but thats ok because you only include the interesting bits lol..perhaps try and get your creative side out in a different way..like poetry?
