Where is the bill?

United States

It is being reported that a compromise has been reached on the health care bill and that will go up for a committee vote on wed. But would not get a full floor vote til after the august break. So where is this compromise bill? When will we the american public get to see it? Don't you want to know what is in it BEFORE it gets voted on?

I can't wait to see the "compramise". This is going to be another midnight bill. You can count on that much. It will be up when there is maybe a few hours before a vote, if they put it up at all before a vote. This shadowy way of doing business is eventualy going to pisss the population off. Congress is no longer "the people", it is an aritocrocy.

I agree. I just can't believe after the cap and trade bill and the way it was rush through before anyone in the population much less the members of senate got to read it. It was printed up and submitted in the middle of the night and voted on sight unseen the next day. Where is the outrage? People should be in the streets about the way our gov. is treating us.

Mind your own business! You're just a racist and a hater. Give them a chance. Bush did it too. My senator went to an Ivy League school so I'm sure he helped write the perfect bill. Ok, I just wanted to provide all the responses you would likely get from democrats on this thread. Seriously, they don't want us to see this bill and they certainly don't want us to know what's in it. If we did, we'd know more than they do, because morons like Conyers think it's absolutely ridiculous to read it, especially if it's over 1,000 pages long. According to them you should just blindly trust it and apparently their constituents, Obama, and Obama's supporters agree. On the plus side those morons no longer outnumber the rest of us.

Because there is not a bill. I want to see the bill, but let us remember with cap and trade part of the bill was written the day the bill was voted on. So this must be the new legislation tactic to withhold the bills writing until the very last minute. By not writing the bill, they can go back to their districts and say what ever they want to say. If you challenge them on something Congressmen can just say "That is not in the bill". Well of course it is not in the bill you never wrote the bill. They do not want to take any heat when they are on their August break.

how can you don't know what the bill is then go to vote it? it's ridiculous. maybe you need to check on internet or ask the government staff to get the answer. i'm not from the USA, but here in the UK there is a lot ot news about the states. i watch the bbc news channel rugularly but i never hear in the American people vote before they know the bill. i heared some about the health care perform. i wish it can really work and poor people can get benefits from it. happy Mylot
