There's no Money for Existing Programs, We can't Afford Obama's Health Care Plan

The government is starving for revenue. The recession has caused tax revenue to drop sharply and according to experts, there is no money for important programs already in place, let alone national health care at a cost of $1 trillion.

"The last time the government's revenues were this bleak, the year was 1932 in the midst of the Depression."
On top of that, Social Security is predicted to run out of money much sooner than expected, as early as 2013 it could be paying out more than it takes in.
"The numbers for 2009 are striking, head-snapping. But what really matters is what happens next," said Gale, who previously taught economics at UCLA and was an adviser to President George H. W. Bush's Council of Economic Advisers.
"If it's just one year, then it's a remarkable thing, but it's totally manageable. If the economy doesn't recover soon, it doesn't matter what your social, economic and political agenda is. There's not going to be any revenue to pay for it."
Meanwhile, Obama pushes forward his expensive takeover of the health care system.
"President Barack Obama has said he wants to tackle Social Security next year, after he clears an already crowded agenda that includes overhauling health care, addressing climate change and imposing new regulations on financial companies. "
I wonder how many Americans have those as their priorities in this economic crisis?

It looks as if seniors (like me) are going to get a double whammy against us from Obama. Now I get it why he want to have the Euthanasia section in his future health plan. Get rid of the seniors then they will not cost his health care dollars and that will also reduce the amount of social security dollars getting paid out in retirement!!!

I have to admit that I had that same thought. Seems like a valid reason to put health care expenditure before dealing with the Social Security deficit. Maybe he can kill two birds with one stone. Excuse the phrase, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Stop and think about it for a minute.
The government has been running Medicare for decades and it is in the process of going bankrupt.
The government has been running Medicaid for decades and it is running out of money and cutting back on services.
The government has proven that they cannot successfully manage a health care program for the elderly and disabled.
The government has proven they cannot sucessfully manage a healthcare program for poor people and low income children.
And, now, they want us to trust them with providing healthcare for the rest of America????

Very true! What is wrong with people are they too blind or deluded to see what is in store for all Americans or too stubborn to admit they voted for the wrong person?

I believe it is primarily "too stubborn to admit they voted for the wrong person?"; and also, too proud to admit they were wrong.
No one wants to admit they were gullible and easily mislead. Not when the rest of us were practically shouting it from the roof tops and they refused to even look at the facts. They would have to admit that "we were right and they were wrong" and no one wants to be wrong.
Some of them are starting to come around and are displaying anger at Obama for lying to them. Others will continue to ignore the facts until the day they are lowered into a cold, cold grave; because they are unwilling to admit that THEY could have been mislead by a con artist.
