Is Major League Baseball Too Strict On Who They Let Into the Hall of Fame?  

I am not sure if they are actually too strict on choosing who they will induct into the hall of fame. I know alot of people deserve to be there with the other people though. Some do not get recognised.

To me would depend mostly on how they played but also I dont think some that have police records for certain things need to be put in the halls of Fame!

I don't really like them keeping people out of the hall of fame because of off the field stuff. I could see them keeping people out because of steroids. I love that the baseball hall of fame is hard to get into. Things like this tend to lose their luster the more people that are in. If 10 or 15 people are inducted a year, then it becomes commonplace for people to be in. But since only a few each year are inducted, it is still a huge honor.

Hard to say on this one. Ty Cobb was a super racist and he got in. Babe Ruth was a boozer, so was Mickey Mantle. Ted Williams spit on reporters. But I have to say that ethics should play a role in HOF selection. We should be sending a positive message to the younger people.

I don't think a league could have a Hall of Fame that is too strict. The stricter it is the more it means to make it in. The reason the Baseball Hall of Fame is the best in any sport is because it really does take a lot to make it there. It is not the Hall of very good, it is the Hall of Fame.

Though I do think Shoeless Joe Jackson should be let in, and Rose can be allowed in after his death as well.

I feel off the field issues should only count until the player is dead, once that happens all that is left is the games that they played and the stats they put up.
