During a speech titled, A Change We Can Believe In at Spartanburg, SC, November 03, 2007 Obama uttered, One year from now, we have the chance to tell all those corporate lobbyists that the days of them setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more to take on lobbyists than any other candidate in this race - and I've won. I don't take a dime of their money, and when I am President, they won't find a job in my White House. Because real change isn't another four years of defending lobbyists who don't represent real Americans - it's standing with working Americans who have seen their jobs disappear and their wages decline and their hope for the future slip further and further away. That's the change we can offer in 2008. http://www.barackobama.com/2007/11/03/remarks_of_senator_barack_obam_30.php paragraph 22.
The problem is here is a list of all the lobbyist Obama appointed to run his government
Eric Holder, Attorney General, was registered to lobby until 2004 on behalf of Global Crossing.
Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, was registered to lobby as recently as last year on behalf of the National Education Association.
William Lynn, deputy defense secretary, was registered to lobby as recently as last year for Raytheon, where he was also an executive.
William Corr, deputy health and human services secretary, was registered to lobby until last year for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
David Hayes, deputy interior secretary nominee, was registered to lobby until 2006 for San Diego Gas & Electric.
Mark Patterson, chief of staff to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, was registered to lobby as recently as last year for Goldman Sachs.
Ron Klain, chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, was registered to lobby until 2005 for the Coalition for Asbestos Resolution, U.S. Airways, Airborne Express and drug-maker ImClone.
Mona Sutphen, deputy White House chief of staff, was registered to lobby for Angliss International in 2003.
Melody Barnes, domestic policy council director, lobbied in 2003 and 2004 for the American Civil Liberties Union, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the American Constitution Society and the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Cecilia Munoz, White House director of intergovernmental affairs, was a lobbyist as recently as last year for the National Council of La Raza.
Patrick Gaspard, White House political affairs director, was a lobbyist for the Service Employees International Union.
Michael Strautmanis, chief of staff to the president’s assistant for intergovernmental relations, lobbied for the American Association of Justice from 2001 until 2005.

For all his big talk otherwise, obama has just as big of a love affair with lobbyist as all the other politicans.
Haven't people figured it out by now.....he lied. He said whatever he had to get elected. He promised whatever he had to get elected. Knowing he was lying and knowing he was not going to even come close to fulling those promises. Enfact knowing he was going to do the exact opposite.

This is why I get frustrated with people that still want to take Obama at his word. Take for instance Obama's public option plan. Obama supporter will say Obama is no for European style health care because Obama said so. How many time can Obama lie before people stop excepting his words as truth?

Part of it is they are lying to themselves. Let's face it this last election got heated. Even the primary was heated between Obama and Hilary. And then with McCain. A lot of voters "fell in love with Obama" and backed him no matter what. They wanted to believe what he said soo bad. They wanted what he was selling sooo bad. So they voted for him. Not only did they vote for him but htey spent tons of time on this site and others talking about how he was the miracle worker.
And defended the heck out of him.
If they back down now.....it means we were right...they were wrong. A big I told you so. No one likes I told you so. And especially not from conservatives. The enemy.
If they face reality then they have to realize that they got duped. How many dems are going to do that? They are soooo stuck in party lines they won't do it.
At least not publicly.
And then you add to this he is the first american president. That is a huge thing for the african american population. They want him to be the best, brightest president. It is a matter of pride for them. They will defend him no matter what.
They will never admit no matter what that the first african american president lied and cheated his way to the white house ( most politicans lie and cheat their way to their elected office, so he is not the first, wont be the last). It took how long to finally get one?
HE is too important to their commuity to allow him to fail or look bad.

They won't even try to defend him. They will just turn a blind eye to it and all the other bad stuff he does. Because if they admit the truth then they have to admit that poeple like you and me were right. And they would rather just about anything else happen but that.

It isn't just the lobbyists.... it is also a matter of all of the special interests that 0bozo owes his presidency to.
Everyone from the unions to ACORN, to illegal foreign terrorist contributions... just about everyone imaginable had a hand in getting this Kenyan-born usurper elected.
Then there are all of the waivers that this lying SOS granted in violation of his own policies to allow these lobbyists and special interest groups to take the appointments that 0bozo offered to them.
While Reagan is known as the "Great Communicator"... 0bozo will forever be known as the "Great Deceiver" for all of the lies that he has told and will tell in the future.

most don't become lobbyist until AFTER they leave office. Lobbyist companies love to hire htem because they have all those personal relationships with all the congressmen and senators they served with that are still there.
