Why do children confide more in their mom than dad?

No it's just that mothers spend more time with the child even in his or hers first minutes of life, usualy the father is mostly away to work to support the family. This is since the beginning of mankind, fathers away hunting while mothers taking care of the youngsters and the homeplace.

Of course.Children always have a lot of time with their mum,and have less time with their dad,and mum is more kind than dad,so that the reason why children like dad than mun,i think.

Nah,kids feels more confident with mothers due to the closeness,i mean,dad's were always not at home due to works.While mom's always stays home with them,and mothers were too sensitive to feel what their kids wants and what their kids feels.

I think it has a lot to do with what role fathers play in the home also. In my home i am the "serious" one, the comforter, i feed her, cloth her, bath her etc and generally take care of my daughter, wheras her father is the "fun" one, playing games, messing around and just generally doing the stuff kids enjoy. I think this makes it more likely for my daughter to confide in me when she is older as she may feel her father isnt the right one to go to.

Basically mom is good listener than dad. She is also available more at home than the dad so children get to express more to their mothers. But i have seen some dads who listen patiently to their children than their mothers.

As the saying goes a girl's best friend is her mother. So she feels safe when she confides in her mother. This has nothing to do with fathers being bad.
