Now there are many posts on here that are either pro or con about Obama. Now I would like real true examples about what you like or dislike. If you like the Health plan give me an example of why, or vice Versa.

Looks like it's time to dust off my now infamous list again. This is a list of blatently unconstitutional actions by our government. Many are things that were also done under Bush or before and are constinued under the current adminstration. these are undeniable and happening out in plain sight. It speaks to a general direction of totalitarian ideology by our government. I object to border patrol checkpoints in the middle of my state. I am not talking about the border stations one encounters when entering the country. These are checkpoints set up often 100 miles from any border. They stop every day Amercians in their day to day travels with in their own state, cummuting to work, errand running or simple business or family leisure travel. Cars are stopped and all ocupants are asked about their citizenship (papers please!?) as well as often being subjected to further detention and screening at the discretion of the agent. I object to the federal government blackmailing and bribing states in to passing laws by threatening to with hold certain funds or waving extra funds under the noses of the state governments, using OUR OWN MONEY. I object to the readiness and use of the United State's military for the enforcement of civilian law. It is not only ilegal, it is no better than they way third world naiton's use their military on their own citizens, seriously, we are better than that. I object to the abuse of the interstae commerce clause by the federal government. they twist and reinterpret this clause to pass laws and impliment policies that are circumvent the 9th and 10th amendments, undermining the authority of the states. I object to the apointment of so called "czars", the apointment of unelected, not congressionaly aproved people, answerable to the president or tiny handfull of the executive branch. This is a dangerous circumvention of the system of checks and balances. I object to handing more and more control of our monetary system to a private interest (the federal reserve). Which brings me to my next item.... I object to T.A.R.P. a bill that not only iresponsably spent 700 billion dollars, but also gave much greater power to the federal reserve and treasury department, in fact it in effect created a 4th branch of government, the "treasury branch" for lack of a better term. This was voted for by both Obama and McCain and signed by Bush. I also object to how it was passed, under litteral threats to some congressional reps of martial law. I object to the consideration of U.N. and international treaties that violate our constitution, federal laws and many state's laws. In fact, I object to our involvement with the U.N. and especialy object to our troops being used by them, no United State's soldier should ever fight under any flag but that of our own nation. I object to the government having the power to monitor citizens in phone conversations, emails, and such, especialy unwarranted. It is a policy that operates under the system that presumes or at least suspects guilt, rather than inocence, and many times is a circumvention of the 4th amendment and on the whole, is just a very orwellian way to run a country or justice system. I object to the partiot act, do I even NEED to say any more about this? I object to the use of fear to get us good little citizens to accept things we might normaly object to, many of the same things I mentioned above. I object to the fact I am considered apotential terrorist because of the things I object to and the parties I follow and vote for. Over all, I object to the general totalitarian direction our government is taking. I object to and flatly reject the ideology that government knows better, that it is the solution to all. I object to the stranglehold our so called two party system has on our government, that allows for other parties to be kept out of debates and off the ballot. I object to the reduction of our state governments to mere federal puppets. I object to the ever increasing mandates put on states, the growing interference in to state's business. I object to the notion that our government is a top down system and that the people and states are subserviant to the federal government. I object to the demeaning in condicending treatment of people who raise such objections. I object to being "snitched on" because I oppose something. If you too have objections to the things I listed off, why are you still supprting the new adminsitration? ALl of these things should be enough to enrage america to strong action. Why are you ("you" meaning staunch Obama supporters in general) justifying such support by pointing to other things you may agrea with? Such as saying something like "well, yeh, i hate the patriot act, but he has also done "such and such" good thing, so over all i think he was the better choice". This is a dangerous complacent and apathetic mentality, a moral compramise and the accptence of a slavish position in life.

Xfahctor is always good at putting forth clear and irrefutable reasons for disliking specific politicians. I started a similar thread about Bush and he was the only one who could do the same there.

Brother believe me I am no fan of this administration. I was curious to see if anyone actually had an examples of good done by it. As you can see no one has stepped forward with even one good example as of yet.....though provoking ain't it? I had posted a diffrent discussion asking for specifically good examples had had no response...hmmmm. Thank you for your list for I that is what I wanted actual examples. So many blow up with out being able to support their own thoughts.

I dislike his health plan because it mandates coverage, threatens to fine people who don't get approved health coverage, will cost trillions just to start, and hardworking people like me, who already have health insurance, will be the ones footing the bill. As for what I don't like about him. He blasted Clinton for wanting to mandate health insurance. Now he's doing the same thing. He blasted Bush for warrantless wiretaps and promised to filibuster any bills to promote them. Instead, he vcted for immunity to those conducting warrantless wiretaps and as president has continued that. He blasted Bush's policies regarding terrorists and waterboarding, but is continuing rendition where terrorists can be sent to other countries to be tortured. When it came time to appoint a new Supreme court justice, he didn't search for the most qualified or capable person. He searched for the most biologically acceptable person, focusing on race and gender above all. He is also attempting to restructure our government by appointing "Czars" who answer to nobody else, are not elected, and do not have to be confirmed by the senate. Let's see, I'm running out of time, but I'll try and give a bit more. He doesn't support police. After admitting he didn't know the facts of the Gates-Crowley incident he immediately took a side and insulted the Cambridge police. He doesn't respect the American people. When thousands protested during the tax parties he mocked them without even bothering to address their concerns. When the DNC accused taxpaying citizens attending town hall meetings of being angry mobs funded and sent by republican groups, he was silent. He didn't care to stand up for those people at all becasue they didn't support his agenda. Ok, that's all I have time for now, I'll give more later if others don't beat me to it.

The meaning of Hypocrisy- the act of pretending to have beliefs, opinions, virtues, morals, qualities or virtues that one does not really have coming from a desire to mask ones actual motives or feelings. You very nicely gave a few examples of above description.

OpiionatedLady, What I take exception to is Obama's assumption that some companies are "too large or important" to fail. Where exactly do you draw the line and when does it become anti-productive to keep bailing them out?(this is Chrysler's second time)I would also like for him to reveal the secret of how you can spend money to get out of a dire financial situation. I have seen a few times in my life I could have used information like that! LOL

I'll post something good he has done. He has shown everyone one in the U.S., no the world, that you can get ahead and make something of yourself regardless of the color of your skin. He proved that if you can't get ahead now, it's not the color of your skin that is keeping you back. I'm not saying racism is gone, as skin color may make getting ahead harder for some. But they can be overcome as Obama has proved. There are no more glass ceilings for minorities.

And yet they act as if there where, go figure. I actually wanted his actions since becoming president, since that is really the big issue at moment but thank you for being the only one so far to try to defend the man I was wondering if there was any one who would do it.

I dislike the fact that he is continuing with the illegal wiretaps instead of stopping them after the Democratic party demonized Bush for starting them. In addition he has signed executive orders the provide additional secrecy about what other things they are doing against U.S. citizens as well as preventing the White House from being held liable for doing illegal wiretaps.

You have hit on a classic example of "it is alright as long as I am doing it". President Obama has taken the wiretaps one step further, he has setup a website where people can "snitch" to the government about anyone who is being negative about the current health care plan.
