How do you see yourself?

When I read the quote I felt quite horrified because the way I imagined others seeing me was quite disturbing! lol

They probably don't see me as badly as I pressume and I obviously still have a low self-esteem problem left over from a tramatic, difficult life, although my self-confidence is growing.

hi pose123 we can see ourselves surely from others,charity,helping others,etc.... The simplest answer is,we cannot see ourselves because we do not see things through their eyes only our own

I think itis an on going process to always be working on oneself to improve yourself. I took anger management classes for years, along with some other selfimprovement classes, at a mental health facility I use to go to in Tucson, AZ. When I lived there. my ex was a very mean & abusive person mto me for 25 years, & how i coped with that was I took the classes so I could learn how to stand my ground with him & not always get beat down by him. It helped me a lot to see that i was a good person it was him that had the problems....Lori

Hi there I read the poem by Robert Burns and what it all says is that we need to have objective look on ourselves and this would help us make a better person.

You're probably right, we do need to work on self improvement, but I can't see many of us doing it. I think about the quote, "oh, if I only had it to do over again I'd...." If I'm the same person, "over again," as I am now, I'm going to do the same as I did.

Hi Pose... I have to agree. I we were to actually analyze why we don't like something about other people, it is probably because of our own shortcomings. They might remind us of something that we have experienced in our lives, or something about us that we really don't like, but have not acknowledged it... so we transfer our hatred to someone else, rather than addressing the items in our own closet of the mind.

good point,we seldom think of the question,i am the one who do things carefully and take happiness to other,but i am very shy,i won't be the first one to challeng anything new,that's too pity,

"You must understand yourself before you can understand others!" That is one of the beliefs of the Shaolin monks. You are correct. We can always improve ourselves more but first we need to understand ourselves. I am currently trying to learn as much as possible about myself and my ancestors through the halogenic and genetic memory. Cheers!
