 13.13.13 Do you think this number has anything to do with your poor performance in any field or in any arena?
The fact is that many a people is preoccupied with the 13 as an unlucky number. To my consternation I have found that the people of the West are more concerned with this number if compared to those of the East.
My son was born on March 13 and I have accepted this to be my lucky number for my son is too intelligent to his age.
What is is you take on this?

In fact I played with it right through high school and then I had to change it for college because an upper classmen already had the number and wanted to keep it. I actually like the number and have nothing against it.

People are generally so scared of it, they refuse to take any important decision or stay in houses etc. I think its a personal thing. Each to his own.:)

I have several numbers that seem to be lucky for me. UcanQuote, you just carried the number with you to keep it simple and recognized as you. Don't you think?

In my views in that belief, it is not true in some instances and maybe in some it is only coincidence that something not good happen in that day. My cousin travel from my hometown to their province at the 13th of the month and Friday but nothing happen. If you believe in it it may be true but if you are not, it is not true.

| Archie0 (3139) | 5 months ago |  superstition from years ago claimed Friday the 13th was a bad luck day, just like a widow was not allowed on the ship[pirates and merchants]believed it was bad luck and the ship would shrink and everyone would die..never was any proof just old wives's tale....some people still believe it....have you ever heard that hotels and high rise buildings, both commerical and apartment buildings do not have a 13th floor. the high rise buildings go from 1st floor to the 12th and the next floor is the 14th floor, another silly tale....most people now do not believe this and i sure do not....

I'm not sure the significance of this number to people as far as superstition but there is definatley superstition surrounding it.

If I am not mistakenn the superstition has something to do with Jesus and the twelve companions. That is one of the reasons why this belief is prevalent in the West. 13, or any other number for that matter, is just a number. We can associate a number to anything that we want.

But now I don't find it scary anymore and I don't believe its very unlucky. I believe in lucky charms and lucky numbers. For me 13 is a lucky number. I used this number on lottery tickets or bingo numbers and it gave me some luck.
