It seems that President GMA is now encountering another series of controversies. It is known there were other issues thrown to her and her family as well, and some of them has not yet been answered clearly.
After all the previous and current controversies against her, do you think President GMA can still regain public trust? If yes, what you think she should do?
For me, I think it's like an elephant passing through a needle but if she will be sincere enough then it may be quite easier for he.
No hurting words, please.

Personally, for me she lied once, she can do it again. I don't know if there are still people who believe on her but if you asked me, for the first time that she became the president I don't believe in anything she said. Yes we all know she is working hard , working hard for whom. Did she bring changes, it only became worst. Why she become worst because the people no longer believe in her, less people are only supporting her and those people either from Malacanang or congressman. And I believe they are being paid and the money that used for it is our paid taxes. Before the Filipino lose hope, i hope she step down from his chair and gave way for the next president.

YES i think she can regain the trust of Filipinos if and only if she will admit all her wrongdoings. There are lots of issues and allegations of corruption against her and she needs to answer that. The Filipinos want to hear her side directly from her and not from her spokespersons who are all lying. Those spokespersons doesn't know anything but to defend their president. Instead of explaining the issues, they are always blaming it to other person or institutions.

This is a tough one as i am expecting negative comments soonest...
i would be brave enough to say that i still believe and trust GMA. The way I see it, even if she does a good act, people would blindly find other ways to turn it around because they simply dislike her. It is true that you cannot please everybody. It is hard upholding a country especially if you have many detractors waiting for you to commit a mistake, waiting on you to fall. I dont always believe the media because they have the power to overexaggerate or sensationalize an issue like an ostentatious dinner in NYC.
There is nothing she can do that can appease the blind, the deaf and the hungry, not even a heroic feat. It doesnt matter anyway though as this is her last term. and my am i so glad that this is her last term because she doesnt deserve all this! she is a very hardworking woman and i feel so sad because not anyone can appreciate her. The blows against her family is not just a professional but a personal blow itself. And yet, despite all these questionable allegations, she has committed herself to a country working 24 hours a day as if she doesnt need to rest.
should i get my umbrella ready for negative comments on the way? guys be kind to me... i am new here!

I agree that trust is earned and GMA has been given a lot of chance to regain trust but to no avail. Given the fact that the economy is worsening, the tiny bit of trust of the people who still believe her will soon wane. I once believed her but that was a thing of the past.

I used to believe in GMA. I used to believe that she is a good president, being an economist she knows how to handle the current issues of our country. I was not even swayed with the "hello garci" controversy. But my faith in her began to wane about a year or so ago, when prices of commodities kept rising while my salary was still at the same rate. You could feel the misery in the air of people feeling the crunch of poverty. I don't think she will ever regain public trust, given the light of the new controversies. In my opinion, she is beginning to be like the Marcoses, who party and spend lavishly while the people go hungry and get poorer.

Yes i do believe that too. It would need time for her to be able to regain traust of the public. We Filipinos tend to become forgiving with one another. You can just see the Marcoses and even Estradas. Both were ousted bu in time we tend to forgive and forget about how things are with them.

Trust once is lost, will always be hard to regain it back.. NO matter how, she as a president, has got to do her best with whatever she can.. For the country depends alot on her.. And if she cant lead the country well, it's most likely that protest will happen etc, thus making the country in a mess..
SHe needs to do something fast, and be preventing problems before they arises.. IT's gonna be hard work for her..

Hi fatherblogger. If I am in her position now, I should be packing my stuff now. She should start stepping out of the palace. Explanation is no more acceptable to the people. What she is doing now is not appropriate for a leader of the nation in great crisis. She should be thinking of the people not of herself, not of those already in power.
PEACE!!!

I am tired listening to the never ending issue about the President. Could the media concentrate on the good news of the economy?actually, sometimes, issues are being exaggerated by news report, dwell on it too much and sensationalized by different groups. When we look closer to the whole thing in life, there are situation that seems aggravated because of the wrong focus. The President can regain the public trust, I believed, if the news report will focus more on the development of our country and the President's effort to stabilize the economy, then public trust is possible. It's on how we feed news to the public that generate anxiety and tension.
Well, it's good that we should be aware with the lifestyle and issues on the President but sensationalizing it and digging on it too much is already tiring because it won't help feed the people who are suffering in the hinterland with that report.

The damage has been done and trust is one of the things that can't be easily gained back. But I do think, given the Filipino's short memory span and forgiving nature, there's a chance for her to clean her family's name. She should start to clean her acts though kick out all the "devils" around her.

I don't think she can regain public trust. Since she won against former President Joseph Estrada her morality in running the nation decreases due to series of issues that left unsolved. The first gentleman and her sons is also the reasons why Filipinos see her as corrupt. Her family members pulling her done due to their unacceptable behavior. It is so obvious that shes using her position to get away with the scandals, one of the example is the "HELLO GARCI" scandal. She confirm and asked for forgiveness on national television, but still she was not been kicked out.
I think the nation is much better when former president Joseph Estrada is in position. what do you think? in this up coming election who do you wanna vote for presidency? well, they're all the same, "trapo". So i, we go for lesser evil. As if we have a choice....

As long as she would cooperate with the said allegations and her family as well. besides it's already the end of her term so why bother campaigning to the public and regain her trust. Pres. Arroyo should have gained more Public Trust if she did honor her word in resigning back in 2001 but she didn't. that time, she lost that trust within the public..so wasted it. we should that she will mark her words in stepping down, if not you'll probably see Me among the streets.
