| | 2.  thedailyclick (1117) | 5 months ago |  Well I am going to state the opposite as whilst the majority of movies are made in colour there are still hundreds of movies made each year which are made in black & white through choice. The reason being that sometimes a black & white movie can deliver more atmoshpere than a colour movie.
It's not just independant movie makers which choose to do this and can think of the top of my head that Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" was shot in Black & white as well as the Coen brothers "The Man who wasn't there" which were both main stream productions.
What I do believe will never return is the Hollwood magic. With so many movies being made these days that very few are anything but average and we are basically spoilt for choice. I also feel that the stars from the golden era of Hollywood had an air about them as if they were untouchable where as today modern stars lack that element.

But the old stars had such panache and style, Leslie Howard, Vivien Leigh, Greta Garbo, they had real screen presence. How could I have forgotten to mention Bette Davis. Just wonderful. | |
