I'm considering trying out some online classes. My aunt furthered her education with the University Of Phoenix Online and she said it was a wonderful experience. He has an excellent paying job now and has said that she thinks it would be great for me. I'm really considering it. I know I probably wouldn't be able to start this semester but possibly next semester. Have any of you ever done college online? If so, what college did you use and were you satisfied?

I considered it but found it to be VERY expensive! I enrolled in my local community colleges online. They were accredited so I could transfer the credits to the big state university if I wanted to continue there. Look up your local or state community college and you'll find you can save a lot of money and get great quality education!

Both my son and his wife and my daughter got their degrees online...but not from the University of Phoenix....my son from concordia college and my daughter in law from South West State.....they still had to ocassionally be interactive with their classmates but that only made them new friends! If you can do it.....go for it!

I agree with dragon. Look into your local colleges first. When I went to college (you know, back when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth), I went to Towson University (Maryland) where the credits were $25.00 each for those who lived there, and $65 for outsiders. Local colleges, whether 4-year or community colleges, are MUCH cheaper where you live.
Furthering your education is NEVER a bad thing, even if you don't go to college but learn on your own. I learned website design on my own. I bought one book and borrowed a few from the local library. All it cost me was that one book. Of course, I don't have a degree in Website Design, but now I have the experience and sometimes that's worth more than a degree.
I've only heard good things about University of Phoenix, though, so I think you'll do just fine there, if that's what you choose. But, financially speaking, you'll do better by looking at your local community college first.
Good luck to you!

One of my sister-in-laws just graduated from the University of Phoenix. She did most of her classes on line. I would never would do classes on line! I have enough trouble with computers as it is! Taking classes on line would be disaster for me!

I have heard it is a great school to get further education. My sister in law took it for awhile but then her son got sick and she just quit. But, I am sure your aunt is right in suggesting it to you. It is a great school from what I heard and seen online and on television.

I have not done any college online yet but I am planning on attending online in the next 6 months. I checked out Phoenix and I think they have some really great programs. I was talking to a friend last night and she is transferring from another online college to UOP. I think it would be a great step for you and if you feel good about it I say go for it! Take care and happy mylotting to you.
