Do you read books/magazines/novels while traveling? |
|
I do carry my favorite magazines and novels with me during long journeys and i travel in trains most of the time. Though I love reading and productively spend the idle time, I end up hurting my eyes in this process, especially when the train or us is moving. So do you read books while traveling? What do recommend for people like me to who end up with a terrible head ache because of reading in a moving vehicle/transport?

53. secretbear (5223) | 5 months ago | hi divkris!^^
i would like to read while i'm traveling but i can't because i get nauseous and it makes me feel like throwing up. that's true for buses and other land vehicles. i don't get nauseous while reading inside a plane.^^
i have tried reading a pocketbook while riding a bus. i would feel nauseous and my stomach would churn only after a few pages. sometimes if i really want to read, i would read a few pages then take a break until the nausea goes away and then read again.^^;; but as much as possible i avoid doing it because it's bad for the eyes.

54. JAG2009 (200) | 5 months ago | Most of my reading has been when I travel. You see, I read all the time. I have got into trouble for reading in class, at work, while attending meetings, and even at church(!) So, when I travel, it's my time - no one can feel offended that I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing. I find that I pack 2 or 3 books - a classic case of being over prepared! My advice - start wearing glasses, get a pain killler or two, practice reading while travelling - the more your eyes get used to the idea, the easier it will get....but please do not stop reading when you travel...You'd be cancelling one of the greatest pleasures of life!

Last week I went down to the USA for a party, and I had a couple of books in my bag to read on the bus. I also take my little portable CD player and some music with me to listen to, while travelling.

This symptom of headache happens on me as well, but by drinking a cup of coffee might help you relieving the headache. I do enjoy reading while travelling, it helps killing the time and keeping your mind busy with the knowledge. It is just perfect!
