What was your FIRST job? |
|
First job, does the On-The-Job Training counts? Well, that still goes to that category isn't it? Well, the first official job I had back when I was 20 was an English as Secondary Language Teacher/Instructor, ESL Teacher for short. I used to teach English to Koreans, it was a great edge for me since I'm part Korean because of my mom. Well at first, it should be a part time work, didn't take the work as work but rather killing time while waiting for graduation, you know, being productive and all.. However, I think I'm starting to enjoy the job and the pay was a little okay so probably the reason I stick to it for awhile, for awhile is like roughly 4 years. Now I have a different job.. So what was your first job? Is it still your job now?

1. marguicha (3454) | 4 months ago | My first job was as a librarian. It was very interesting as it was in the only nuclear power plant Chile had then. We were in the middle of nowhere so there was a special bus to pick us up every morning. And we ate there too. I learned a lot about nuclear uses but I forgot most of them, of course. That was about 45 years ago. But I do remember that nuclear power, well used, can help a lot. Later I left that job, was a librarian at a school of medicine and finallt found my real interests in literature.

10. yourbetteroffasian (181) | 4 months ago | When I was 16, I was a referee for my local YMCA. I would ref the basketball games for the kids for about a year. I was paid minimum wage and I would work on the weekends, and on tuesdays. I was also a backup coach if some coach doesn't show up, I would be there and make the kids run some drills. I now have a different job but that was my first job. It took a while to learn the symbols on fouls or penaltys, etc. But it was very enjoyable because I can help others in basketball and get paid in it.
