It is all the same, these people have a lot of cash and they spend it. For you and I eeking it out for $10 worth of mylot credit it seems extravagant, but that is just because we are not playing in the same league.

Actually... Obama just ordered 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan, and is now "teeing off". Obama has only been in office for 6 months, but already has logged 2 trips to Camp David, a weekend getaway to take in a broadway play, a 4 day sightseeing/town hall trip out west where he and his family enjoyed the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, and fishing in Montana; and in Paris, France.

You both are right about the fact that these politicians, not just Obama and Bush, but many others, are in a totally different league. I am unemployed, going to community college but can't do it full time because of the classes I am taking that cram 3 units into half a semester, so I would have to do double the load as everyone else, and so I can't get health coverage as a student because i don't qualify but I can't afford it on my own, so I am the first to be in total support of health care reform and for reasons besides that too. But one thing that I have also realized is that people with money are gonna do what they wanna do, and I can get upset over it, but it is just harming me because its gonna raise my blood pressure while they have fun. So Gum has the point that should be important, we shouldn't be focusing on who spends what, we should be focusing on the people who need some reform, but dwelling on a lavish vacation is not going to help anyone, I live in California where things are expensive but there are tons that can afford it all, so perhaps I am used to numbing myself to the rich

Bushes month away was in 2001, a year into his presidency, my point was that Bush was a dumba$$ that wanted to seem like a cowboy all concerned but then rubbed it into the face of everyone that he was playing golf and shooting the breeze, fine shoot the breeze, but don't give me a line like a girl in a bar and then say "heh heh heh look at ma golf swing". and Bush took about 300 days of vacation during his terms, he had September 11th and started a war, but still took 300 days of vacation, that is almost a year off, those are the facts about Bush that I like to point out.

It was about a third of his presidency, I have heard that it was about 300 days, but it was a third of George W. Bushes presidency that he was taking a vacation break.

oh and forgot to mention that there is a huge difference in a president that tries to sound like a cowboy, has to deal with September 11th, and he decides to start a war, and while Bush was on his month long vacation, he got warnings of a possible terrorist attack, and oh yeah, he did nothing, maybe because he was on a vacation, and then September 11th happened, and then he still proceeded to take tons of vacations. I have no problem with presidents taking vacations, especially if its to actually take time with their families and wives and maybe put some heads on their children's shoulders. No, I don't have a problem with Obama taking 5 trips in 6 months because how many days have those trips really added up to? No I'm not saying that at all, I'm saying you cannot compare Bush to Obama. They are on different levels. If Bush hadn't taken a third of his terms off and been an idiot on top of that, I would have said "hey he needs a break". I don't really care about people taking breaks, I live in California and have grown to really be disappointed in Arnold, but I also used to work in the Hyatt gift shop that he stays at. I know that he still keeps up his lavish lifestyle and takes breaks, I didn't give a toot really about it because I knew I couldn't change it, I dislike Arnold a lot, but Arnold is not like Bush either, Bush created a persona on his own, a ridiculous one, and started a war, and then sat back and played that persona out but was still a "hey im a western sheriff" bs, while he goes on vacation. You want to go on vacation, fine, but don't feed the U.S bullcrap to try and get them worked up and scared. And another thing that is different about Obama than recent presidents is that he has young children that are under immense pressure, stress, and scrutiny just because of who they are. So I actually applaud Obama for taking time for them, Bush's daughters weren't 21 but still adults, but still might have benefitted from some heart to hearts to keep them from being the fools that they were.

Read my whole response Ted before you make statements. Obama has small children, small children need attention and time, Bush had two adults who got drunk and made fools of themselves. You are the one that is making statements just because you dislike Obama, you are saying the same thing over again when I am actually pointing out facts. FYI Spicy, you are going off blog info when you talk about Bush's vacations. A lot of those supposed "vacations" were at Camp David after 9-11 where Camp David functioned as a second White House and was far more secure than the White House. Bush took ONE vacation at this point in his presidency, Obama is on his 5th and that's while telling US we need to tighten our belts. But as we know, republicans are held to a higher standard so democrats can do whatever they want.
