Will you check back the history after watching some movies based on the truth? |
|
Lately I watched an old black and white movie and it is called The Diary of Anne Frank. Although it is an old movie, but I was still moved to it. After watching this movie, I checked back the history of the people who hid in this little room in World War II. It is sad to know that Otto Frank who was Anne's father was the only one survivor. Other people all died. They had hidden for over two years, but at the end they could not survive from the death.

2. cyrus123 (1762) | 4 months ago | I have seen this movie on television but have never really watched it. I started to watch it on youtube a few days ago but I never did finish watching it. It looks like a good movie and I plan to finish watching it one of these days. We had the book titled "The Diary Of Anne Frank" when I had my bookstore years ago. Yes, this is based on a true story. It's very sad, too. Kathy.

youless (15294) | 4 months ago | Perhaps you don't like the black and white movie very much. If this movie can be filmed again, perhaps it will attract more people.

cyrus123 (1762) | 4 months ago | No, it's not that I don't like black and white movies. In fact, I like some of these movies better than some of the ones they make these days. It's just that, knowing me, I was probably so busy at the time and didn't have time to watch it. Kathy.

3. kunizzul (646) | 4 months ago | Of course. We should check back the truth of that movie storyline. You can check at Wikipedia or search at other related site. Mostly movie will add some part and remove some part from the real story to make that movie more interesting to audience.

5. ferdzNK (2326) | 4 months ago | Oh yes I do, I've seen TDAF too along time ago on TV and I remember searching her story in encyclopedia, there were no Encarta yet and internet that time. I always compare the facts on true-to-life movies if its really that true. War movies like "The longest Day", "Pearl Harbor", "Schindler's List" and the like, "300", "The last Samurai", "Joan of Arc" even the animated Disney movie "Anastasia".

6. chosen9 (760) | 4 months ago | I love watching fictional and mythological movies and mostly watch films under these genres and I must say that some I find so fascinating that I google search on the internet about mythological stories which are linked to these movies like Elektra's qualities as depicted in the movies are very similar to our Indian Goddess "Durga" with supernatural powers and Kingkong is very much like Indian God "Hanuman" who went to a separate Island with demonic tribals and protected the special female as per our mythology it was "Sita".The stories don't match exactly with the originals but are quite similar. Movies based on True stories are also fascinating but I rarely check on the history after watching them.

7. neelianoscet (2067) | 4 months ago | I had watch the same movies when I am in high school and even read some notes from her diaries from a book. Then, I learn it really happen and I think if I am not mistaken she get caught by the Nazis. I also saw Schindler list, and now I have internet connection. I research it and know the horrible scenes really happen. I feel so lucky I was born at this times not during their times. Wars is in unending fate, nobody becomes winner only many lives are loss. I do not wish or ever dream it happen again. So many innocent lives dies which is brought by wicked mad mind, delusional and with wrong ideology..

youless (15294) | 4 months ago | You are right. Hopefully human beings won't make the same mistake again. This is why Otto Frank published Anne's diary.

10. Abhii88 (122) | 4 months ago | As per your heading of the discussion, I really wonder that of all the movies that i have watched which are based on true stories, i have never checked even once that the particular movie is based on a true event or not. For me if i knew that i have heard the story or read it somewhere it's ok else the director's word that IT IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY is enough for me:). Moreover i don't feel that what i am seeing would be different if i investigate which can't be true in all cases i know
| |
| |
|
|
youless (15294) | 4 months ago | Usually the movie will tell you whether it is based on a true story or not at the beginning or at the end.
| |
|
|
Abhii88 (122) | 4 months ago | Obviously the movie says it, mostly or in all cases at the beginning only and in some cases at the end:)
