WEDDINGS - your thoughts, your dreams, your wish and your views! | | | | Have you attended any weddings before? You can share any weddings! How about your own weddings, do you held it in a church, temple, gardens, hotels or any wonderful or funny experience about weddings that you would like to share? Where you went for your 'honey moon'? If you have not married, what type of dream weddings you always wish, and where you would like to have your 'honey moon'? Just my personal experience to share with you... I always laugh when I think about it.. lol My husband and my family members are from outstation. We have to make sure those who do not know where the church is, have to come to our house first. Then we will either convoy them or sit on the cars provided for them. So we have to reach the church before 2pm for the wedding ceremony and changing of vows. After that we have hi-tea reception, photos taking and rush back home to change to go to a club for the dinner reception. The best part was our 'wedding car and its official driver' went home to Subang Jaya to refresh and change. By 7pm we have to be there to receive invited guests. Waited and waited, the 'wedding car' got caught in Subang Jaya famous 'jam'..lol. That time no cell phones...we can't wait and we call for a taxi. The taxi driver was shocked to see that he is picking up newly wed couples to the Club. The rest of the cars have to pick the outstation relatives... Quite FUN & MEMORABLE! Talking about 'PUNCTUALITY'! | | Weddings | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | Hello Iriene, No, i didn't attend any wedding before. But now i am going to attend the wedding. Tomorrow is my friend's wedding and i'm planned to go to it. His marriage is going to held at a marriage hall. In our locality there are seperate halls for the marriage, because our population is very high and marriages are happening very frequently. Also, during no marriage, they will rent the hall for the other functions like parties, etc., Have a nice day.. | | | | | | | | | | | | A romantic Inn 4 Couples A short one minute walk to the beach …. www.catalina.com/seacrest | add comment | | | |

Have a great day.. i guess you didn't see your friend's tab.. something was waiting for your approval for nearly 3 days...lol... | | | | JamesKYTan (713)

| | Hi jonjee, You all could have freshened yourselves up at the coffee shop nearby before proceeding to the church. In this respect, I could like to take this opportunity to relate an incident happened to my friend, the bridegroom then. I was supposed to be the driver fetching the happy couples from Petaling Jaya to Ayer Keroh. But after travelling about 8 kilometres,I had to switch car or rather drivers. The reason, the bride forgot the most important item - the wedding rings. A mutual friend then drove the happy couples to Ayer Keroh. Since I am closer to the groom, I went back to the blissful couples' home to retrieve the wedding rings and later proceed to the church just in time. | | | | jonjee0203 (4680)

| | Yes, I know of such incidents. In the rush, anything can happened and in this case- the most important articles needed for the wedding vows. If you have seen the movie " Four Weddings and a Funeral", you can see that the wedding planner always forget to bring the rings and had to borrow odd looking rings from his friends to make do.We all know of funny things on the way to my/you/our weddings. We hope this topic will excite good discussion among those who are married or know of such occurrences. | | | | | | | Become a Wedding Planner Learn how to coordinate and plan ceremonies and receptions. www.PennFoster.edu | add comment | | | |

| | My husband and I just got married in June!! I've also been to several weddings in my day. Our wedding consisted of a ceremony first at the church. Our ceremony was in a Lutheran Church and it lasted for about a 1/2 an hour. After the church ceremony our marriage license was signed by the pastor and we were officially married! After the ceremony we had a reception , which was basically like a big, formal party to celebrate our marriage. It was the best day of my life, marrying my best friend. | | | | | | | | | | | | Make Wedding Invitation Mixbook is Free to Create & Share. Printed Invites Start at $.39 each! | | Weddings, I have attended too many wedding to remember. But there are a few that that I can vaguely remembered as these happened long ago. There was one wedding my better half and I attended which we have to wait for close to 2 hours for some important guests of the groom, dinner cannot begin without them. Everyone were very very hungry. The minute the late-comers arrived everyone heaved a big relieve as if strike the jackpot. There was another occasion which my colleague and I attended. Guess what? We missed the king of all dishes- Shark Fins. We started our journey from Singapore at 4:00 pm and drove up north to Segamat, Johore in Malaysia. In those days there was no highways, we used the torturous narrow trunk road and over-taking trucks was an ordeal. We lost the way and asked for directions and ended up missed 4 dishes. Bad experience!! | | | | | | | Iriene88 (1658)

| | Dear James, Hahaha...that is the price for not being 'Punctual' I have been to one wedding dinner many years ago in a 5 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur. That evening, heavy rain, thus bad traffic jam..the dinner supposed to start at 7:30pm, an allowance of 30 minutes is tolerable. We arrived punctual because we know KL traffics are always bad. But the VIPs weren't there in time, imagined the dinner officially started at 9.15pm, we are really very hungry...an unforgettable wedding dinner, we will always quoted that wedding dinner ' the latest we have ever attended '..lol According to my husband, one of the Singapore 5 star hotel literally having a fantastic promotions 'We will give a one night hotel stay at the most expensive room here if the wedding dinner can start punctual and ended on scheduled!'..Till today, no one had acheved it, that shows how bad people are at 'punctuality'.. | | Dear dpk, Thanks for sharing such a hilarious and memorable wedding...truly appreciate it! I enjoyed reading it very much...when it is different, it is memorable! Btw, I am curious..how the band collect the money later? Does they managed..???..lol I would like share about the most memorable wedding dinner that I have ever attended :~ My ex-boss ~ a regional manager of a pest control company (Malaysian). He fell in love with a Hong Kong 'sales representative' in a seminar. This beautiful Hong Kong girl is a fan of Michael Jackson. At that time there is no emails yet. So, they have long distance love relationship via long distance phone calls! Wow..that's romantic. One day, he found out that Michael Jackson's is having a concert in Singapore. He booked the concert tickets and a flight ticket for her to watch the concert in Singapore. They have a whale of fun, immediately after the MJ concert, he porposed to her and SHE ACCEPTED! Their wedding reception was held in a 5 star hotel in PJ and their invitees are from all parts of the world from Canada to Australia..from North to South, from West to East. Before the wedding started, they had executives carrying flags from almost every country of the world..Kungfu performance & MJ concert video on the wide screen...I'm Speechless - PERFECT Wedding! | | Weddings are very nice and I have been to several of them. I am half Greek though and so I guess I have been to quite a few Greek weddings in the past. Everyone was so happy and the dancing and smashing of plates was very nice too! I doubt that I will ever get married though! I have been living alone for a long time now and I guess I have become comfortable and used to my own circumstances. They say you never know what is around the corner so maybe I will get married one day but I just cannot imagine it right now. I don't have any family to speak of! What would my wedding be like? Without any family to support me I don't suppose it would be much of a wedding really. I love watching other people's weddings though and how they enjoy themselves. | | Hi Iriene88, lol... it was indeed a very memorable wedding for you, taking a cab to the club! Since I was 4, I've always dreamt of having a fairytale wedding. With a flowing nice gown, a prince charming, nice banquet, diamond ring and lots more. I am lucky that I did find my prince charming and he did give me a fairytale wedding and now we are blessed with our own little prince. We went to China for our honeymoon as we had burst our budget for the wedding. The following year, for our 1st Anniversary, we went to Europe.. the following year, we celebrated our anniversary with our little prince and had been grounded in our country since then.. no more travelling until the little one is older! | | | | | | | JamesKYTan (713)

| | Hi Submerryn, So lucky of you to have a fairytale wedding. I thought fairytale wedding is only for the rich and famous. It will cost a lot more than most of us can afford. As for our honeymoon, we went to Europe, 10 countries 15 days. Such wonderful memories... | | | | submerryn (707)

| | James, Haha. That explains the reason why we ended up in China for our honeymoon and only went to Europe a year later for our first anniversary. The wedding dinner does costs a bomb, top that with the photography, live band and many more. Come to think of it, many people burst their young life savings on weddings these days... | | | | Iriene88 (1658)

| | Dear submerryn, If I have the opportunity, I will visit you and have a look at your 'expensive' wedding studio album. I believe it is really beautiful! This new generation photography have outdoor and indoor session. Very interesting but I just wonder whether is it worth the money.. coz after a few years most of this album is kept. I too spend around RM988 for the wedding gown and studio photography, that was like ampteen years ago, only indoor photography. One thing about this studio photography, they are very business minded, assuming package of 1 Large photo and 30 small ones...but during studio time they will snap more than that, once developed and 'touch-up' all look good, so most of us will purchase more, means pay more, over the budget Thanks for sharing, all the best! | | | | submerryn (707)

| | Iriene, sure sure. I'd love for us to meet up when we have the time. We really spent a bomb on the wedding portrait. We were impressed you know why? Because for the first time in our lives, we had blemish free skin! both my hubs and I dont have beautiful skin in reality.. lol.. all the touch-ups had made us 'beautiful'. Eventhough we now keep it away, it will be rather precious when our kids are grown up and wants to have a look at how their parents did they wedding portrait back then.. This is really a case of Once In A Lifetime. | | | | | | | Wedding favors & Supplies Wedding favors, Guestbooks Centerpieces, Ribbons, bubbles... WrapWithUs.com | add comment | | | |

| | My husband and I have been married for five years now. We were married in the same church where I grew up and our reception was in the gymnasium of the church. It was such a perfect event for me. We didn't dump our entire savings into our wedding, but rather we spent on the things that were important to us. My favorite memory of our wedding day was the release of memorial balloons. We'd filled balloons with helium and placed a memorial tag inside of each one for people that should have been at our wedding but had passed away before our wedding. This was the best way that I could think of to remember those people on my special day, and it was such an emotion part of our day. The balloons were white and silver and each was released individually. It was just absolutely beautiful. | | | | | | | kb5000 (108)

| | I had the most beautiful wedding, I was glad about that. My cousin's wedding was the weekend before mine and my sister and I hated her. Anyway her wedding was cold and wet and damp. Mine was sunny and warm and just the most enjoyable day ever. Anyway that's basically my story. | | | | | | | | | | | | Wedding In 2012 Wedding Everything! | | I have attended 7 weddings so far and I have also been a flower girl as well as a bride's maid once before. I love weddings; from the couple's story, to the ceremony, the little details, just about everything! I am a nurse by profession but back when I was still 16 years old, I made a portfolio of inspiration pictures for my future wedding and I'm still updating it every now and then! When all else fail in nursing, I guess I'm going to have to be a wedding planner. Lol! To Iriene, that was quite an experience! Somehow these little things or glitches are always bound to happen but they also make your special day more memorable too! | | | | | | | Iriene88 (1658)

| | Dear chiaren, Welcome to myLot and I am glad to hear from you Wow, you have attended quite a number of weddings, that's great! You are so blessed, you have been a flower girl and a bride's maid before...so the next one will be your own wonderful, memorable and creative wedding of your dreams First and foremost, must find your Mr. Right! For myself, I have been the bride's maid for my sister's wedding and my brother's wedding. The third one is my own wedding. I totally agree with you, it did make our wedding special and memorable...something different and can laugh about it. There is one more story that I would like to add,...do not be like my husband and I 1 month before the wedding, we have appointment for pre-wedding 'studio photograph' session. At that point of time, we do not have cell phones..communication is quite tough. There was no reminder on the date of appointment. We suppose to have it on a Sunday, but since I worked 5-days week, they cannot contact me on Saturday to remind, my 'husband to be' are always outstation, so can't be contacted too. Both of us are so busy with work, we totally forgot about the 'studio photograph' session, until next Monday they called me and asked why we did not come... When I was young, I am a 'workaholic', I worked 3 jobs..., so we rescheduled the appointment again. So, cell phones is very IMPORTANT! | | | | | | | Macy's® Bridal Special Take $20 off your $100 Registry Purchase & Free Shipping! Ends 9/27 Macys.com/GETAGIFT | add comment | | | |
