Hi Emma and Realan...I had my daughters far enough apart that for a long time, there were new songs and new groups introduced into our home. Even I remember Milli Vanilli via my oldest daughter! And Michael Jackson and the Thriller album...of course we had to buy that one.

And disco, uh huh!

Hello Yvon. Those boy bands...so much heartfelt and romantic music and I think all the girls had a crush on them! I have to agree that school and friends and our "coming of age" years were very special. And music was such an intricate part of all of that!

Good afternoon to you :) Even I remember Abba. They were popular when one of my three daughters was a teen. Boney M...I have a Christmas song by her....it rocks!

Yes, my music would have been oldies to you lol. There hasn't been a year in my entire life, though, that I haven't discovered more and more music that I love to add to those original oldies from my teen years.

My two oldest daughters were teens in part of the 80s, so I can very much appreciate some of the same music you enjoyed...Madonna and Jackson, in particular.

I think we're each defined in part by the music we embrace in those teen years...and ever after, when we hear it, it triggers memories.

Hi Realan...Some of these sound very familiar to me...Bon Jovi, the boy bands, and Def Leppard, for instance. The rest, I am not so familiar with. I am old lol.

Hi Mimpi...I still very much enjoy pop and blues, both the older songs and many of the newer ones, too. It's fun to think back on how we were and what we loved as teens, and then stand it up beside who we've become.

Hello Jo. Elvis and Motown were very popular when I was a teen...weren't they just great? And yes, I also listened to and fell in love with many of the others you've mentioned.

YES, THEY WERE THE BEST. I STILL LIKE TO listen to the oldies better than anything out there now. Music has always been a big part of my life.

Hi James. All that stuff that might seem weird now is what sets us apart at the time, though, yes? That is also my oldest daughter's era, so I learned to love some of that same music via her!

I do remember the clothes and hair...she'd agonize each morning before school or before a date lol.

I do think whichever music defines our teen years is something we like the rest of our lives, even though we might add others from each new decade to our favorites. There is just nothing that compares to "coming of age."

I don't remember Kate Bush, but bet my oldest daughter does!
