My Son is too smart for his own good  |

 My Paul is almost three years old now. He's growing up way too quick, and he is smart as a tack too. Well, yesterday, I had to use the restroom just after I'd finished giving him a bath. So he wasn't dressed at that point but I figured a couple of minutes of being nude wouldn't hurt him. So, when I get done in the bathroom, I run upstairs to find him so I can get him dressed. He isn't up there. I come back downstairs and do a quick walk through. He isn't there either. I notice that the storm door isn't all the way closed. I quick grab my phone and go outside to find him.
Well, by the time that I get back to the front door, he is trying to come back in. He is still in his birthday suit. I ask him, "Paul, what were you doing?" He tells me, "Getting a choo choo out of the car." At this point I look over at my car and see that the trunk is open.
He'd gotten my car keys out of my purse. He'd gone outside with the keys and opened the trunk of my car. All while he was naked.
That leads to my question. Has your son or daughter ever done anything, however inappropriate that you just didn't expect out of them at their age?

But when he was just under one, he got himself into the cupboard where the cheerios were kept, got the box of cheerios, and dumped them on the floor and there he was in the middle of a pile of cheerios happily munching away.
He has been climbing since a very young age, and he follows along with book better then I would have ever expected. Cheers.

 dorannmwin (1891) | 4 months ago | Sounds like he is definitely nobody's fool. My son too has been climbing since a very early age. He actually started going up the stairs when he was just six months old. He started crawling when he was 5 months old. They just really grow up far too fast. | |

| 3. Debs_place (6721) | 4 months ago |  I am not sure what you considered the inappropriate part. My son did not always make it in the house when he was three and used the backyard as his outhouse. It was never noticed because we had a dog.
As for getting the keys and opening the car trunk. My son was 4, when he put the car in gear and pinned me between the car and the garage door. He thought it would be fun to drive.
Kids are great, they are smart and observant. Never be shocked by anything they do

We all know that with a little one, it is important to get into the bathroom right away when they need to go. Well, I told my husband to just let him pee outside. My son about freaked out about it. It was really funny. | |

My daughter is 19 months and she sometimes does odd things that I wouldnt think she would ever be able to do at her age, but that is just hilarious! Scary at the same time, because not finding him right away would be a scare for sure, but actually getting the car out of the trunk? lol WOW

I was just thinking, how would it sound when I call the police and they come and ask what he was last seen wearing and I have to tell them that he was as naked as he'd been on the day that he was born. I don't want to be the parent that holds them back. Yes, that does mean that sometimes I get walked all over by them, but I believe that by trying to let them fully experience their world it does make them to be better, stronger, smarter people in the long run. And, not a day goes by that one or the other of them does something that amazes me. | |

One morning, when she was about three, I woke up to the smell of coffee and the sounds of the coffee maker. She had made my coffee for me and perfectly, I might say. She had watched me make the coffee and just imitated what I did.
She was born independent and still is the same way to this day.

He actually could fix his own food as well but he has a tendency of eating everything that he can get his hands on so we've actually had to put a lock on the fridge to keep him from getting ahold of all of the food. | |

I don't know what will happen to him in the near future . It's still hard for me to know his characteristics now . But now he looks a little shy when he meets strangers . It's no good and we often take him out to meet more people so that he will change this bad habit.

He will talk to anyone that he meets and that is very much to my detriment. I am actually scared sometimes that when we go to the store or something he will wonder off from us and go off with some other person because they were nice to him. My other child, Kathryn, on the other hand is very shy around strangers. She won't talk to people for the longest time and now that she is in school that makes it difficult for her. | |

The closest clever thing he has done is i had his little treats which are smiley face gummies. I had them on a shelf hidden behind some other food. Well i left him alone for a matter of minutes came back to find he had pulled everything off the shelf and had gotten his box of treats down. LUckily he couldn't open the treats. Haha!!

My son is more on the level with children that are six or more months older than him than children that are his own age. The same is true of my daughter who is almost seven years old. Last year she was placed in a gifted program during kindergarten. This year she is already telling me that she is bored at school. Then, just this week I was told by the art teacher at her school that she is the most gifted artist in the entire primary division of the school (K-3rd grade). | |
