If a stranger slapped your 2-yr-old in a store....

Hello Jenysie. I am with you on that...I would instinctively swat the daylights out of him!! And then, yes, I'd have called the police. To the credit of the Wal Mart people, they did just that...called the cops on this maniac.

By the time I was done, that guy would be BEGGING for someone to call the cops to save him!!!! My kid or not, I would of tackled that idiot quicker than an NFL Football Star!!! What an A$$!!! I can't believe he hit her in the face that many times!

I think his punishment should be a padded cell with toddlers screaming over the speakers 24/7 for about a year! He'd probably try to stab himself to death with his toothbrush after the first week.

I hope the judge really 'slaps' it to him! And I really don't think that jail time is enough. Maybe some anger management and therapy!!!

Hi Jenysie. I feel like you do. I hate the "I don't want to get involved" mentality that some people hold. I would have defended that child no matter if she were mine or someone else's.

You're also right. He needs more than just jail time. He obviously has some deep issues that need correcting!

I agree with you, he looks really scary as well grrr I am sure that child must have been scared to death what was her mom doing while this was going on, lucky for him it was not my grand baby too bad he did not think before he acted which is what he seemed to expect from this two year old, now he will have to explain his actions to some mean men who may have children of their own

Yes, it just shows on his face that he would be more than likely of committing such a deed, grrrr. I don't know exactly what the mom was doing, but like you, had that been one of my grandbabies?? Look out! And yup, I've heard what happens to prisoners who've hurt a child!

I use to watch this show when I was younger called Prisoner Cell Block H, I always remembered that show I would ask people did they watch but they look at me like what are you talking about anyway I found it on the net youtube have almost every episode I try to watch it everyday lol I said that to say this when you get an inmate that do bad things to children the prison will sensor all papers so the prisoners don't know why you are doing time, I wonder if this really happens in his case I hope not, they all need to know what he did

Hi Kitty...I've not heard of that show either, but it sounds interesting. There are those rules, but then sometimes they are broken, even by guards, and other times, when asked by another prisoner, some of the inmates "tell on themselve," unwittingly.

You are so right my friend I was going to add that to my post sometimes the guards themself will make sure you get your butt kicked for hurting a child or any minor offense depending on the guard

I know such things do go on. It sometimes seems that true justice is hard to come by. I get that the man is probably "ill," but then that, too, can become like a cop-out.

Exactly! Just walk the heck away. I just cannot imagine such audacity...he must be at the very least semi-insane. Ack!! I still cannot stop thinking about that.

This happens every now and then it really bothers me now because I am actually doing something I love and not being able to respond makes me mad, but no sense getting all worked up if you see I am not responding to you nine times out of ten it is my connection

My very sentiments, Zoey. We parents are very protective of our babies and it would be a gut reaction to get physical with him! It just makes one wonder...why on earth so much anger and violence? Where does it all end? Smacking a tiny child, not once but 4 times??? A child you don't even know, no less, and in public.

I'm glad he's been arrested.

My child or not.. if I saw that it was a perfect stranger, you bet I'd be jumping right up there and doing it anyway. I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit by and watch that crap go on. Maybe that makes me just as bad,a hypocrite... I don't know... but an adult who has nothing better to do than to literally pick on a small child... I'm relatively protective of all children, period.

Same here, Zoey. Even if that happened to a child not mine, I would definitely interfered!! Like you, I have a tender and protective spot for ALL children.

Hello James. I'd have had the same reaction as you've described. I hate to see anyone harm a defenseless child. And so often: well the crying got on my nerves.

Hello Mimi. I agree...such a young child should not be slapped, and this man was a complete stranger to both mother and child...just another customer in the same store. I've never heard of such behavior in those circumstances.
