The return of soccermom!

Hiya soccermom, welcome back!

I guess you can say I have. It was back when I was 18. I decided to move in with my then boyfriend/now husband. I felt bad because I knew it hurt my mom (her baby was leaving the nest), but I needed to get out of there so I could start my life and she could get on with hers. So, I wasn't being completely selfish, even if it looked like it at the time.

Definately. The year of 2006 was the worst year of my life....my ex husband is the most selfish jerk you could ever want to meet, wouldnt keep a job, wouldnt watch the kids so I could, wouldnt cook, wouldnt clean, just wanted to run around and drink and do drugs with his buddies then come home, wreck the house and treat me and my kids badly (I had a daughter and we had a 1 year old son together).
Finally, I had enough! My kids and I deserved better and it was like a blanket was lifted off my eyes, I could finally see him for what he really was and I quit making excuses and I put my foot down, I MADE him get a job, then I told him I was taking every penny to pay the current bills and the rest was going in my leaving him fund. At first he thought I was kidding but I proved otherwise. I told him I would only do mine and the kids laundry and would only clean up behind me and the kids and only cook for me and the kids from now on, so he better learn how to work the washer or call his mommy. I stuck to it from September of 2006 until the end of January of 2007. I ignored him, acted as if he didnt exist, spent all my time with my children and took all his money and did the right things with it, then finally, I packed the kids up and move 5 hours back home, got my own place, 2 jobs and have lived happily ever since.

I have actually since met the man of my dreams and am extremely happily married to him for the rest of forever!
I wish that I had a way to show other women that you do not have to put up with abuse in any form from any man. That man physically abused me, but ran like a pup when I stood up to him and stuck to my guns, it took me forever to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and those of you who cant see it might just be letting the man of your dreams right on by you, and he will be the person you least expect!
It was a long road, it was hard, I cried, felt weak and useless. All alone raising two kids on my own, but it was worth every drop of sweat and every tear because my life is so happy now! So yes, I made that giant step, hurting every way but I knew it was for the better in the long run.

Hello Soccermon, I believe we haven't met. am LetranKhight25, I was here last year already. regarding your topic, i believe it might hurt some friends and members of the family since they aren't use for you to change but at least for some they understand if that's what you really want and would make you happy

Hi soccermom!! I'm so glad you're back, I was looking through my "friends" the other day and wondered where you had been.

I had done exactly what you did but, it wasn't because I was in love with someone else I had just had enough of the crappy marriage and the lazy man I was in and with. Too bad it didn't solve my problems because our divorce was 10 years ago and I was actually just in court this morning because he won't follow court orders.

It's great that you've gotten your life straightened out. I think everyone goes through stages when they need to just wipe the slate clean and start again. I've had to do it several times in my life and it's always made a great improvement for me.

It is good to see that you are back with us also. I am also glad to see that you moved on with your life to be more happy also. I feel like taking giant steps sometimes too but I am happy for the most part right now. We have got to do what we have to do, to be happy.
