Media - sensitive or insensitive

I absolutely agree with u. What is worse is the media person who was asking these questions was a girl herself! How insensitive can she get! I am glad she is no friend of mine. I would have had tough time not giving her a piece of my mind. But the person who is covering it or broadcasting it, even they were happy enough to show it. I am surprised that they didnt say - NDTV is the first to show it - the way they were doing when terrorists were there in Taj. Disgusting.

Yeah - it is exactly the same situation - only the people are different and so is the country. I'd rather they behaved normally. And I could understand if it was something for which they would get some promotion - like covering the news before the rest - but interviewing the wife of the deceased with such dumb questions will hardly add to their list of qualifications. The poor woman was there wiping her tears, her hair open, and her head bent downwards - and though I have no particular political leanings towards any party, my heart went out to that woman in pain. At distance I could feel sorry for her, practically at the scene how do they control their feelings? I would be in tears myself. May be they are trained to be indifferent to others misery.

U sure have way with words. Everytime u write and everything u write I agree with word by word. But I dont have guts to spell it out in open like u. I hope u will help me be more honest. Just wanted u to know that even the reporters who are normally quite respectable have joined in the fray since the time I posted this. Apparently the political bigwig who is dead was so highly connected that if they dont have two words to spare, their careers might be affected! So much for the media being independent in the world's biggest democracy.

One of the nice things about getting old is that you can be as cantankerous and as eccentric as you please, because you no longer need fear what people might say - whatever good or bad is going to happen to you probably already has lol.

Paparazzi is insensitive, but even television reporters are. On the one hand they show how a young kid is being rescued from a deep well with the help f army personnel, and on the other hand they are poking the wife of the deceased - almost teasing. She must be miserable as it is. She is a traditional lady, so she didnt react. A person like me would have openly asked - oh u want to know how it feels, well, get married and lose ur husband. Then I will come and ask u how it feels. U can describe with all ur descriptive skills. Yes - even I believe they will face their karma.

I was unfortunate enough to have watched it. And I was unfortunate enough to watch the 26/11 as well. That small child who didnt even know that his parents were dead inside. He made a very said picture. And each time they keep on repeating the same news again and again and add - this is the channel that is the first to show u this and that. As if that is what should be registering in our minds and not the tragedy.

U know - the same point I made here, yesterday I saw something similar on Star World - but of course they were advertizing for responsible journalism. I am so glad people are realizing. The ad showed the reporter asking the wife of a person who died how she was feeling because her husband had died after consuming some spurious drugs. I think that has calmed me. People are realizing that is not expected of media. Hope it percolates to other channels as well.

Yes its better late than never.Let ads like that be put on each & every channel..but most importantly those media people should be knowing what to ask & what not to.
