Do Our Family Know us Too Well?

I find that I can get often get instant "by sight" admiration from strangers, which is enormously flattering and yet they don't know me: they see me as someone I probably am not because they haven't heard me speak: they don't know me other than by sight. On the other hand, my family know me well: and they do not put up with my nonsense, and do not admire me unless I earn it: which is the way it should be.
My family know me well, although they might deny it; how about you? Do you sometimes think your family members know you too well for your own comfort? Let's talk families...and how they see us.

Sometimes I think my family doesn't know tThe real me at all. But at other times they know me like very well. But they don't know me so well that it is uncomfortable. That is too close. And I don't think anyone knows me hat well. I guess it is a good thing to be shy and distant.
It sounds like your family knows how Old Carl use to be and isn;t so sure of the goodness of New Carl.No worries , they will come around sooner than later,And if they don't , you will keep surprising them which is great!

The "Old Carl" wasn't bad...he just wasn't Christian; in many ways, he was a lot easier to be with than the new, a real sweetheart when he wanted to be. Christianity doesn't make you good: it makes you want to please God...who is loving; but not compromising.

I know you have only told me what you want me to know ,which is great, but your family know the whole story.And if Old Carl was really bad, then it should take some time for them to realize you have changed And the change is permanent.So be patient,they'll come around.

I have five adult sons, four of them happily married to perfect wives for them and the other choosing to remain single. I think they all know and understand me and show me respect and consideration for my feelings. We all get along very well together. I don't think I could possibly wish for a better or more considerate family.

My family does not know me too well at all. I have a friend who does though. We are quite a bit alike. I wish my family would pay more attention and get to know me more but it never happens.
