Dear loter Just one week back I got an opportunities that I spent few days in an old building which was created by near about 150 year back. I cannot explain how I felt. Presently it become a hospital. But believe me I feel terrible and excited that how the people made the building at that time when technology was not there. If you have any experience please share your opinion. Have a great day. Raju 05/9/09

I live in a house that was built in 1923. There were no power tools back then, no cranes to lift the trusses, everything was done by hand. You can feel the pride in my house, the care that was taken in building it the best way they knew how. One of them painted his initials in my attic with the date next to it. This house has sheltered many people, seen children born and grow, seen people die and it is rich in history and emotion. Is that what you felt in that old building? It's sad that people tear down old buildings rather than use them when they are structurally sound. New isn't always better!

The house welcomed me when I entered it. I knew then it was the perfect one for me! It's strange how houses can affect your emotions. I saw a few houses that were neutral with no soul, some that were not friendly and one that was so hostile that it raised the hair on the back of my neck!

I always felt that old people were more creative and intelligent than the present generation. They had plenty in their head. Many of the remarkable achievement were made by those from the past generation. They had no latest tools or technology to assist, but still they created masterpieces. Today we get to see bridges and dams collapsing within a few days of construction, But some of the old bridges are still in great condition. It speaks volumes about their super brain..thx

I have been in some very old buildings also that they have now modernised. I wish they had left it the way it was also because it would have been nice to see what it actually was. I understand restoration but they did not have to totally change everything.
