Countries feel differently towards abortion

In my home country abortion is legal up to 24 weeks pregnant. In the Republic of Ireland abortion is illegal and I think that is because of the religion. Ladies from there can pop over to the UK to have an abortion. Abortion is illegal in Malta and ladies from there can pop over to Italy to have one.
In every country it is considered wrong to kill a person. I think life begins at conception so how can some countries permit abortion? Is abortion legal in your home country? If so to what of pregnancy?
I am pro life and wouldn't ever have an abortion.

I am pro life too. There has been a law being passed into Cogress about the legalization of abortion here but being a Catholic country i think that it would not be put into law. Yes, i also believe that life begins at conception and resulting to abortion, no matter how many days or weeks is still killing a human being.

I do hope so, the Church is really giving it a fight, really opposing the passing of it into law.

I can understand why many hospitals refuse to do abortions for ladies. I think it is terrible that bribes go on. Yes, sadly abortion is legal in both the UK and the USA. In the UK the limit is up to 24 weeks and most other countries in Europe have a limit that is up to 12 weeks.

I am pro-life also. It is legal here in the USA and it breaks my heart. It is also one of the many reasons I did not vote for Obama. His health care package looks like it might cover abortions, which probably means we will pay for abortions whether we like it or not. You are right, life begins at conception.

Well, my country permits abortion.... at least it is legal in some cases. I live in the US and while I would not choose to have an abortion unless my life was threatened, I do not believe that MY beliefs need to be projected onto EVERYBODY. I too believe life begins at conception but I do not know other womens' situations. I believe in the right of people to choose for themselves. Thus I know where *I* stand on the abortion issue yet I respect that others may feel differently and make a different choice than I would. As long as they don't force THEIR choice on me, I don't have a problem with how they make their own choices for themselves.
I sincerely believe to each his own. I do not want anybody interfering with the choices and decisions I make for myself, and I highly doubt other people want anybody else interfering with their choices or decisions. That is as it should be.
Across the board. Everywhere.

I respect other people's choices but I feel many ladies have an abortion and then regret having it. They might have years of depression. Yesterday I read that one in three ladies in my home country under 45 years old have had an abortion. I like each person to make their own choice. For myself I am pro-life.

Hi maximax! Here in the Philippines abortion is illegal and is considered immoral to church as well as to every Filipinos. I know there are countries that allows abortion and have it legalized. We have different views about it every nation does. I'm so glad that we share same thought, in the law of God and the eyes of many abortion is still inhumane and thus, we still taking someone's life with it.

I'm from the united states and I think it's still legal in this country, too, I'm sad to say. I'm also pro life. It's a sin to get pregnant before marriage but if the woman is married, it's a blessing. Thank you for starting this discussion. It's a good one. Kathy.

here in our country, abortion is illegal no matter what age the baby inside in the womb. there are lots of abortionists that had been imprisoned about it. i am a pro life too. it's very bad to have an abortion, if one can't afford having a baby so he/she must not enter a situation wherein they can make one so no abortion could be made, or they must use protection .

I am delighted that abortion is illegal in your home country my friend. It is terrible that some abortionists did back street abortions. I hope they will all be caught. No form of protection is 100% effective. I think adoption is a good alternative.

My home country is a democratic country but it doesn't legalize abortion nor divorce. And based from what I have heard our country is one of the democratic countries left who doesn't support abortion. I personally too think it is bad to kill a life especially when it is helpless even if abortion were legal here.
