Why do we have time? Why was time ever created? Cavemen/women seemed to do ok!

I guess time is very important in the modern world now. People have to go to work and you start at a certain time day and I guess we have become enslaved by the concept of time! I was thinking to myself though, what would it be like without time? How did prehistoric man/woman cope? I guess they were focused solely on the sun and it's movement across the sky. When it was day they did what they could to survive and when it was night, they slept, procreated, that kind of thing
. I don't wear a watch myself but I guess I still have to keep track of time and I do this by using my mobile. Anyway, time! Is there anyway the modern world could survive without it? Take your time in responding to this one!!

Hi Andrew!
I am completely agreed with you. Modern world is bound with time. I have to do my entire job based on time. My schedule is totally bound by time what to do at what time that is based ton time. I have to do lots of work in the morning and time is best to divide my work. Based on time I allocate different work. In past year they were not so precise about time, sun was the only object to decide time. They used to work for only food; due to their lifestyle they had good health and body. But nowadays we have to consider all activity due to changed lifestyle.
In ancient time, there are many structures found which is known as sun clock in India. They created sun clock to check time. You have to come to India to see that giant sun clock. Have a nice day!!

I guess that we would be totally lost without time nowadays! I'm thinking that the whole of society would just crumble if time was suddenly to disappear! Well, I look at the clock occasionally but I don't like to focus on it too much! Andrew

This is something I've been wondering about, myself lately....seems before there was electric and automobiles, people got a lot done in one day and they didn't have clocks like we do....I think it probably had a lot to do with where the sun was in the sky. Without t.v., computers and radio, after dark, what did someone have left to do with very little light? I guess they just would go to bed and get up before the sun did, get started on their day and worked while they had the sunlight to take advantage of it and kept a routine.
I think it's funny that we have all of these time saving devices and shortcuts and we still don't have time in a day to do what we want to do.

Yes, that's right! I think that the creation of time has also led to the creation of stress and everything having to be completed within a certain time frame! I'm sure that all the people throughout the pre time period had a far better existence. Andrew

It's important to take note that cavemen/women had time too. They just didn't have any Timex's back then. LOL! The sun still rose and set each day.
Time was created by God for us. When we die, whether we go to Heaven or Hell, there will be no time. There will be nothing but eternity.
Living in Time can certainly be frustrating at times when you have to get somewhere or finish something at the office for your boss before you go home for the day. I certainly am with you on that. Even though I don't work there are times when Time gets in the way for me.
Have a great day Andrew!

I wish we could get rid of the concept of time altogether! Time tends to create a lot of stress and worry I think! Still, I have vowed never to wear a watch ever again. If I have to look at the time then I will find out by taking a quick glance at my mobile phone! Andrew

Maybe no human no time, and no time no world.

I guess even our good old planet Earth is entirely focused on time! It travels around the sun in so many days or years and this is all calculated as time, very interesting. Well, I think that time can lead to stress if too much focus is placed on time! Andrew

Hi Andrew, although Greek time is famous in its idea of any time it does actually rather exist. These days the fishermen might fish by the tides and moon but they set their alarm clocks to get them there at the right time, the shops shut at the right time for their afternoon sleep but may re-open on Greek time, there is a right and wrong time to eat out. But without doubt the buses run on Greek time which is whenever they feel like it.

That's an interesting idea about Greek time. That's definitely something I recall about fishermen and how they monitor time. They have the moon to accompany them and it's just so clever how they keep track of time. I wish that we didn't have to live with time though, I wish we could just forget about it altogether, I'm thinking that the world would probably cease to exist at this point! Andrew
