If you bought a defective product, will you return it?  | | Suppose there is a defect in the product that you have bought and you noticed it only after coming home, will you return it? Right from small stuff like coconut, provision to TV and Fridge you may find some defect. I will go to the shop and ask for it whether I get a good product back or not. At least let the shop keeper know about it and let me have a satisfaction of bringing it to his notice. What will be your course of action?

If I bought it in small boutique, I usually won't, because the owners are always good at quarrel and finally I will be angrier. But I seldom do shopping there, because I know where they purchase those low-quality goods. And they never give you a receipt, too. So it's really hard.
But if I bought it from shopping mall or outlets, I will do, also it seldom happens. But as you see, the reason I buy one thing is I want it and like it. So if in this case, usually, I will just request to change one instead of return.
In another word, to return is always hard and impossible here. If you make it, it usually takes you a lot of time and energy. So I usually don't do this to avoid troubles.

even in restaurants, if i notice that something i ate seems to be stale or bad, i tell the waiter so that they will be aware of it. i have done this in the past and the waiter replaced my food.
customers have always the right to complain.

We work hard for our money, so if I am spending a lot of money on a brand new product, I expect it to be perfect. I wouldn't be rude, but I would tell the shop that the item wasn't what I wanted in retrospect of it being damaged in some way. I don't see anything wrong with taking something back if it is defective.

It would be in everyone's benefit to return the item, because for you, you will most likely receive an exchange on the same item (except it hopefully won't be a defect this time), and the managers of the store will keep track and have a record of how many defective products they have for consumer and marketing purposes. It really doesn't do anyone any harm to return the product, so in my opinion, why not do so?
