Though I don't think that anyone will deny that we need to be able to defend ourselves from threat of attack. However we have been attacked and all of our toys didn't save us from that attack. In the aftermath we have spent billions of dollars exacting our revenge on the Middle East/The Axis of Evil for spawning the attack that informed us that yes indeed America is suceptable like everyone else is. Now the Republicans are criticizing President Obama for wanting to socialize heathcare and for shooting down Bush's plan for a military contingency plan in Europe just in case the Iranians decide to attack us or our European allies. Keep in mind that Bush was as inept a President as any we've had that has led us into war, and he was rarely right. Most importantly though the plan that he scrapped was created before we had plunged into the current economic downturn and thus some editing might be in order. I certainly like that he is not just blindly throwiing money at projects without looking them over and testing their realative merits.

With the exception of the missile defense plan, Obama has continued everyone of Prs. Bush policies military policies. So why do you praise Obama for continuing Bush's policies, but trash Bush for making them?

I am not trashing Bush for making the military policy that he has made. I dislike that Bush has gotten us into this whole war mess. President Obama on the other hand was handed this war gift wrapped along with his presidency. However while Bush was in favor of sending thousands more troops to Iraq and Afghanistan President Obama is not, not without cause. Bush wanted to increase our "defense" spending and he is a war monger while president Obama is trying to bring our troops home where they belong. Or hadn't you noticed any of this yourself?
