Do you get stressed/ teary when you misplace items? |
|
I always seem to misplace items and sometimes I swear that I've put something somewhere, really need it and think someone has moved it. I really can't help it but it sometimes stupidly almost brings me to tears or actually does. In fact, it doesn't have to be anything special to make me do this. I just start stressing as I find myself ridiculous for not remembering the simplest things or because I may have carefully tried to place items in different places because of what they are.
It really gives me a headache and I find it kind of odd that i react this way as I tend to be quite a calm person otherwise, for example I don't tend to stress out at people if they annoy me, I just let things pass by.
Do you think it's me taking out my stress from other happenings? Does this happen to you?

1. Corgiiscute (222) | 3 months ago | I realized I couldn't find my music player, last night, and I had a meltdown. I hadn't used it in a while, but I thought I knew where it was... turned out, I had no clue:|
At first, I was frustrated, but kept calm. I thought of every logical place that I could have put it. When that failed, I started looking in every other place. When that failed, I started throwing everything off of my shelves, and onto the floor:P The longer you can't find it, the more upset you get:\
I hit my pillow a couple of times, nearly cried, and went to bed without any bedtime preparations.
I tried looking more this morning. A couple of hours ago, I started to put everything that's on the floor, back, and guess what I saw?:| The tip of my music player was sticking out, from behind a ball of yarn. So, panic is over:D So happy I found it:D

thoseappleslooknice (243) | 3 months ago | Haha I'm glad you found it! It seems I'm not alone with that then and you're correct in saying that the longer you can't find it, the more upset you get!
Thanks for responding:)

2. uchihaseymour (347) | 3 months ago | yeah sometimes i do. especially when the thing that i have lost is not mine and is so important to them. one time i lost a pouch owned by my friend i misplaced it on a desk, we searched for it and look way back to remember all what happened so that we can step by step locate the pouch. we searched for about an hour and then my friend cried T_T. it was my fault she blamed me then. because on that pouch there were many things that is so important to her T__T i cant do anything.. i was so stupid at that time. but then she forgave me and i promised to myself NEVER to be careless again. i shed a small tear at that time. now, the things that is important to me and all the things that was given to me, i treasure it most and take good care of it and secure it all the time.:) like every hour/ 30 mins. i check all my belongings and see if they're doing fine hehe:D

thoseappleslooknice (243) | 3 months ago | Your last point kind of relates to me. When I'm out and about I always check my pockets every 5 minutes to make sure I haven't lost my mobile phone or money, for example. I think that is partly down to the fact I always used to lose stuff when I was out when I was little.

3. lcainiao (184) | 3 months ago | Most of stressed for me are coming from life. Everyday I went out to earn money for life. I don't have bachelor certification and I don't have stong relationship in the town so I must try my best to do my job. I'm a man so I never teared. In my mind, all of things always have a solution.

| 4. vanitasuri (77) | 3 months ago | I do misplace items, and then I forget where I have placed them. Then I spend lot of precious time in trying looking at different places. While searching, I would suddenly remember, oh! I had kept them there. But, by that I am completely frustrated and fed up with my life and I feel it is very common so nothing to worry about.

6. tbmorris1 (143) | 3 months ago | I guess losing things must be your one big pet peeve then!! Sometimes it happens because we're only human though. You are so used to doing certain actions that you set an item down without thinking about it or registering it in your mind in other words. Later you find yourself wandering about looking for it!!
What I just explained happens to me quite often! I have these mindless habits: putting my keys in my purse, setting my phone in the bathroom window(then leaving it there and not remembering that later lol), and I bet you know where I'm going with this!!
It's funny that people annoying you doesn't stress you out, but this does. I wish I were that way. Almost everything stresses me out! It could be overcompensation for the lack of stress elsewhere or this could just be your one thing that you can't stand! Have a good day!:)

thoseappleslooknice (243) | 3 months ago | Haha, I think you're right! I do have a sort of routine and so when I'm just doing what I usually do I end up switching off, making problems later as I don't know if I've put something in the right place or wrong place! Sometimes I think a ghost and stolen something haha.

| 7. KomiKomi (61) | 3 months ago | a bit now and then. of course, it depends on the kind of item i may have mistplaced and also if i need to leave the home in an emergency (or wherever i misplaced my item) because then i either need to leave home without it or i risk leaving it behind never to find it again. so, if it's an important or expensive item, then yes, i get pretty stressd.

thoseappleslooknice (243) | 3 months ago | That is another thing that stresses me out. I'm someone who is known for being late everywhere I go and I believe the main reason for that is because things always seem to go missing last minute! Therefore causing me to run around finding them as time keeps ticking!

thoseappleslooknice (243) | 3 months ago | You're very lucky:) It's odd though, because like I said I don't cry a lot from stress. The only 2 things that really stress me out are losing things and when things break!
I suppose I am a little hard on myself, but I think it's right that I am at times!
Yeah, usually after I've stressed out I'll give up and then later on I'll remember that it's in the most obvious place.

9. lynnemg (3570) | 3 months ago | If the item I have misplaced is important, do get stressed out about it and just cannot relax until it is found. Yesterday morning, I could not find my car keys. My husband and I searched for a gfood 30 minutes before finally finding them. My daughter had accidentally thrown them in the trash!!
