What is your favorite Dragon Story and Why?

So many stories are out now about dragons and I even have a blog called Dragonling Tales. I like these fantasy creatures and like to watch the SyFY channel which shows a lot of movies about them. I think my favorite now is Reign of Fire. Great dragons in that one. What are your favorites?

Dragons are great to write about and to read! I loved the Anne McCafferty Dragon series, particularly Dragonsong, Dragonsinger with the little dragons called fire lizards (I think) I really like the Temeraire Series by Naomi Novik, Book 4 just recently came out. Her story is different that it incorporates military history with the fantasy of dragons. I love it.

Ahh, I have a few of her audio books. She is such a great writer. You were so lucky to have met her in person! I don't think I can come close to the caliber of her creativity but I am trying! :P

I love dragons. They seem to be the kings of the mythic beasts these days. I've read a few dragon books including the Inheritance Cycle, but none I would say I absolutely love. My favorite dragon movie is Dragonheart. It's from the 90s but it's great and has good special effects. What do you write your blog about?

Yes, that is another one of my favorites. I really enjoyed that movie. I have a blog called Dragonling Tales and although it isn't really about dragons YET, it's a medieval fantasy collection of stories I have written online. Anyone here is welcome to check it out. Most of the stories I have there are about elves and gnomes so far.

I love the Inheritance Cycle books (that's Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr etc). The movie is not nearly as good as the book (they never are, are they?) but it is very good as a standalone film, if you don't like reading.

I saw the movie "Eragon" and really enjoyed it. I didn't know it was one of the Inheritance Cycle books. I will have to go check those out. Thanks for the tip!

Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey is my favorite one. I love her books! Although I love The Hobbit by JRR Tolkein too, the dragon, Smaug, was so cool!
