Water Problem |
| |
| I'm a little late getting this discussion started. Some of youall know about the water problem that I had a week ago this past Monday and Tuesday. I also told several of youall that the plumber came late Tuesday afternoon and he had to bypass the timer in order for me to have water. He didn't work on timers, himself. I had to get another plumber out here to replace the valve that lightning struck on the timer last Friday. I just thought some of youall might be wondering if I ever got it all straightened out. Well, I did and everything is back to normal now, I'm happy to say. You never realize how much you take things like this for granted until you have to do without them. I just dread to get the bill! | | | | | |

| | I can't believe he charged you $251.00 to fix a little pin hole leak! That is just ridiculous! I had been using the same plumber for years but since he didn't work on timers, I had to call a different one. I got the bill today and it's pretty high! It's pretty close to what the first plumber charged you. He charged me for labor and material to repair a 1" solenoid valve and replace one 110/24 V. electrical transformer. I know it's complicated. Lightning must have struck both the valve and the transformer. These plumbers and all workmen, for that matter, talk so above my head and they tell me so much until it keeps me confused. I'm just glad to have water at least and I hope nothing like this happens again. Kathy. | | | |

| | Yes he did and when he did that he lost a customer. Sorry the bill was high for you too. All that talk is complicated to me too. Plus I sometimes believe they take advantage of females when it comes to things like that. We don't know about it so they can charge us whatever they want. Take care and have a great weekend. | | | |

They charged me for labor and material to repair a 1" solenoid valve and replace one 110/24 V. electrical transformer. I guess both the valve and the transformer were struck by lightning. It's complicated, I know. These plumbers, or any workmen for that matter, talk so above my head and they tell me so much till it's confusing to me. I'm just glad to have water at least. | | hi kathy. i regret to tell you that i probably missed to give my response to your previous discussions regarding this. it might have been caused of the poor connection with my phone this past few days, i think it's over a week now, that i can only login to mylot and post from here, in the office. and as you know, i just pop in to here whenever i have free time. at night time, the problem is there, no good internet connection, so i also have poor performance on the Lot. anyway, it's good to hear that you already fixed your water problem. good work, my friend. | | | | | | |

| | Do you have dial-up? I just wondered because I had dial-up with the first computer I had years ago. It was so slow, too! Now, I have fast access DSL and it's so much better. What happened was, we had a storm here a week ago Monday and lightning struck my house. My power was off for about an hour but it also struck both the transformer and the solenoid valve on the timer on my water heater. I was without water for a day or two and it was really rough. I just had to melt some ice in order for me to have water to wash myself with. It wasn't a very good bath, though. The plumber who came the first time didn't work on timers so he had to bypass the timer in order for me to have water. I had to hire another plumber to come out and work on the valve and the transformer. I got his bill today and it's no laughing matter. They charged me for labor and material to repair a 1" solenoid valve and replace one 110/24 V. electrical transformer. It was high, too! I won't say how much it was, though. I'm just glad to have it all fixed. Kathy. | | | |

| | Hello Cyrus. Nice to see you, and so nice to hear that you fnally have the water problem fixed. Yes, indeed, it must be fixed as fast as you could. Otherwise, it would keep adding to your monthly charges for the water, being wasted. Good that you found a good plumber for it. I had similar problems with water and electricity too off and on. I have th keep the contact information of the service people handy. | | | | | | |

| | LOL....and I know it's not funny, but that bill "is something, you can take for granted, is coming~~~~and something you could do WITHOUT!" Here, where I live, even tho' it is a very small community...tradespeople do not leave your premises without pay in hand, they don't give you time to digest the contents, they catch you whilst you are still in shock, over the amount! LOL! Glad all is back to normal (except your bank account.} Have a great weekend, cyrus123! Cheers! | | | | | | |

| | I am glad that you have them fixed already. It is hard not to have water. It is one of the basic necessities we have. We will also have the same problem. It is just that the water supply will be lost this evening until the whole day tomorrow. I hope it gets back soon. | | | | | | |

| | yes with that reapair I would say it was way above what we had to pay and yes they charge way to much fior the time spent. and you probably could have fixed it yourself alot cheaper if ya knew exatly what parts they were talking about . Usually it is the heating element that goes out and dont take much to replace it.! | | | |

| | I got the bill today and it was pretty high. I won't tell you how much it was, though. What they did was repair a 1" solenoid valve and replace one 110/24 electrical transformer. I'm just going by what my bill says. Of course, they charged me for the labor and materials, too. I hate dealing with workmen, especially plumbers. I mean, they're always nice to me but they always talk above my head and tell me so much that it's confusing to me. Kathy. | | | |

| | I am so happy that you got it straightened pout. I've always found that dealing with workmen - especially plumbers is a huge pain in the rear end. I hate dealing with them. They are another race of people. I had a drama earlier this year just rying to get a new bath installed. He went through the Wall OF THE BEDROOM/. i TOTALLY FREAKED OUT! | | | | | | |

| | Hey cyrus! I'm happy to hear that things are finally back to normal again! I know how horrible it was to have things in such disarry! I hope that now things will be alright again and there won't be any more problems! I also hope that the bills won't be too terrible either! I know how those kind of things go when you aren't prepared for things like that happening! I hope that you will be able to relax a little more now! | | | | | | |
