How did you feel the first time you got to live by yourself?

That is fantastic about how you managed to save up to buy your own home. I don't know if I will ever manage that. I am thinking I will probably start off by renting, and see what happens. After all this stuff with mortgages I am sort of put off that idea, though seeing a house and thinking 'I own that', must be an amazing feeling

Hey Votenoonpineapple,

Yea, that job thing is the main bit that means I can't live alone full time (something I really, really want to be able to do ). I am definitely going to savour the freedom with regards to food. One of the things I am most looking forward to is doing a nice shop just for myself,and putting the things away myself and other small things like that, it shall be awesome lol.

Hi Dawn,

My dad did something like that. He stayed with his parents and then got together with mum and now he is stuck with myself and my brother so he has never lived alone. I can't imagine that really, I am sort of thinking I will be living alone most of my life lol!

Wow your mum's reaction to you moving out is completely fantastic. Mine wouldn't be shocked at all since I have talked about it so much. I really want to be able to be independent of the people here, but it isn't working quite yet, so I seized this chance to have a taste of freedom instead lol!

I liked too the description of the things you got for the house. As sad as it may seem the big thing I look forward to with my house is choosing cushions. I told my dad that yesterday when we were shopping for this trip, and he gave me a funny look. But there are so many lovely ones, and picking one to suit my house and tastes would be glorious

Things are not so good for me over here, since yesterday I have not been able to do much, have other discussions to respond too as well, I don't know what to do about this, I was surprised I was able to get on now, my grandson is right under me because he wants to look at costumes for halloween, wish me luck,I wont complain at least I am here right.

It will be great my friend, my mom heard it enough that was the whole purpose of me buying what I needed, she did not believe me, guess she thought I was talking to hear myself, fooled her LMAOOOO, I was really proud of myself, it feels really good, you enjoy this me time my friend, just know that its only for a certain length of time this way when its time to come back you will be able to do so with ease

Don't worry, as soon as I found out I would have this chance I told myself not to resent the days before it (I found out a week ago and would normally have hated this week for being in my way, but I just pretended like it was normal) and also to not waste the time I have there. Quite often when I get something I love I get too wrapped up in it and forget to take a step back, but I am going to treat this as an experience and hope for the best. I am actually preying that it goes so well that each time my grandparents leave I get to use their house, that way this isn't a one off, and doesn't have to be treated as such~ Has everything crossed~ I just hope nothing blows up lol!

My grandparents have a computer with the Internet which seemed fast. I am going to watch how I use it though, I want to do certain things first (first e-mails and surveys) and then if I have time I will probably come to mylot. If I don't come on much though it means I am having a fantastic time. And if I come on a lot I will have failed in some way since I will be doing what I do here and that just seems wrong lol!

Good Heavens, I think it will be the slow computer that stops me going on here in the end. The thing is ancient~ Stares at it~ I can't even have tabs. My goodness I had forgotten there was a time when Internet Explorer didn't have tabs !! On the bright side it does seem to be able to keep up with my typing so when I can come on here I don't have to watch the screen lol!

I definitely dion't think I would be able to do without the computer, I would die of boredom~ Shakes head~ Somehow I just got it to randomly open up Yahoo too, no idea how I did that

Regardless, it looks like you won't be able to get rid of me after all lol!

Wait till I start using my old pc I may feel the same way, after using this laptop all this time my old dell may be ancient to me as well, oh well funny how computers can get outdated really quick, glad you will be here.

A wrestler?! I thought you had to be something scary on Halloween lol! Are you going to dress up and go trick or treating with him, come to that, is he going trick or treating? I only ever did it once, never liked it though the candy was nice lol

As for cooking I love it. It is one of the main things I look forward to when I live alone experimenting with different meals for myself. I am limited both here and at home, but in my own place I will be able to do whatever I want lol. Do you like cooking, and did that liking increase after you moved out?

They have a scary wrestler called the boogeyman that is who he wants to be, right now, that can change lol I remember one year he wanted to be Freddie cougar lol he was afraid of he mask so he didn't wear it.

I just started cooking on a regular basis, I always had people to cook for me I was spoiled, my EX loved to cook my meals and then it came a time I refused to do it, oh well he should have never started lol, I love it now, I really missed out on some serious mental enlightment, when I am in the kitchen now its really great, I feel so good

We only take him to the stores, only houses he visit is people we know,they get so much candy from the stores.

Wow you have stores that participate in Halloween , I don't think they do that here. Then again I am in a village so we don't have many giant stores around lol. I heard too that Halloween is a really big holiday in the States, is that true?

Wow as well that you didn't start cooking until recently. For some reason i always figured that you would have loved cooking, though I guess if I had someone who wanted to cook for me I would probably let them. I am generally not keen on cooking for anyone else unless they are out of the house and the meal is a reward for when they come back. It is another reason I think i will cook more when I am in my own house, less pressure lol.

Ahh I did that with the college too. I wanted to move into student accommodation but I never got the forms sent to me (probably because I was local) and so I missed out. It seemed too communal though so I don't think I would have liked it really, I guess missing out on this chance was fate being kind to me lol

I know what you mean about the night thing too. In this house I sometimes get paranoid that this would be the day it would be burgled, but luckily my grandparent's have an alarm so I won't have to worry about that for a week lol.

Awesome on the everything in its place statement. For some reason one of the main things I think that will happen when I eventually have my own place is that it will be spotless, probably due to the sheer amount of time I will have to clean if I want lol. That and there is probably a pride thing in it. It is neat to know that I won't have been the only one who suddenly develops a fondness for the cleaner things in life after moving away lol

Wow your university must be fantastic. I think in the universities where I live you have to be a dorm, so even if you have y own room, there are 6 other people around you. I wouldn't have liked that, though cutting out the travelling would have been nice lol

I had a friend who did this before me (I stole the idea of borrowing my grandparent's house from her) and she found that the loneliness got to her as well. I think she managed a week, but she had to come home afterwards because she was getting really depressed and lethargic. I hope you get the chance to live with someone when the time comes to move out so you don't have to worry about that

I am planning to use this experience as a way of learning whether I can live alone full time or not. I think I can because I cope really well without the pressures I feel around other people, but I can never know for sure since it could just be a 'grass is greener on the other side' thing.

When I do move out fully decorating is something I look forward to doing. I don't have a clue what my tastes and stuff are, so it will be interesting to find out. Did you know your tastes and styles before you went, or did you get inspiration from the stores you bought the home accessories from?
